I live in the suburbs, but I become a different driver when I drive in the major city about a half hour from where I live (I've worked downtown at various times). I become not so much a defensive driver but a more aggressive one, shooting around people who are double parked in lanes, racing to beat the light--though I do pause a second when the light turns green to make sure no one is running the light. I think I totally freaked H out the first time I drove when we were in the city. And then there was an ex who was like, "Where ARE we?" when I was taking a back way somewhere, and I was like, "It's fine, I know where we are and where we're going!" (That time I actually did.)

ETA...suddenly missing the city. Perhaps we'll go there this weekend for our anniversary dinner!

Well, I drove 800 miles today and didn't get majorly cut off. It was actually a fairly pleasant drive. Lots of trucks, though. I don't understand why Indiana has a lower speed limit for trucks than for cars. It just makes for worse traffic bc everyone is always having to go around the trucks. Illinois used to do that. I guess I could be grateful that was changed, and that I don't live in Indiana.

Ohhh wowwwww the different speed for trucks would never work where I live

I think we have two speeds in MA, 5mph for everyone during rush hour and 85mph for everyone at all other times. 90-95mph is ok for passing offending out of state cars.

Off topic: here in the US there a show called Billions. Wall Street millionaire type of series. (Fiction) It airs on Showtime. Anyway, for this season they casted a gender non binary person to fill a significant role in the show. I was born female and identify as female but I was impressed by this casting decision on the show. This person is the first gender non binary to be casts on main stream television. Anyway, this person is now up for an Emmy. The academy wanted to know how to enter this person. Best supporting actress or best supporting actor. After a few correspondents back and forth the person spoke very highly of the academy and how supportive they were in whatever decision was made. The person decided to be entered as best supporting actor because "actor" technically defines both male and female roles dated back to early days. I'm just very happy that the academy is so supportive of this and wants to work with the actor in hopes to bring more awareness in the difficulties these people face. You know, with the US in a s h I t storm, I was just happy to read about something so positive.

I believe the two speed limits are because it takes longer for a heavy truck to stop than a car. They are hoping to give trucks more of a chance not to rear end vehicles in front of them.

I love to drive. I am not fond of heavy traffic but driving as an activity is something I really like. I would like to go to Germany and drive on the autobahn. It sounds so fun.

YES!! When all the stock/trading talk happens, my brain shuts off with incomprehnsion, but I am super excited to have a gender non-binary on a main tv show. I liked Taylor (that is their name on the show i think) right away.

Somehow my self believes that I can learn to give that attention to me. Somehow in the face of what I see right now, there is a feeling that I can give "me" the safety and comfort that I've always longed for.

That is my hope and destination.

My babies are coming home tomorrow!! They got to spend the night with their daughter tonight in the hospital off of all the NICU stuff. She is doing great and nursing wonderfully. I can't tell you all the happiness I feel in my heart.

For every part of me that I have found, there is this overwhelming feeling of "please don't push me" it's a feeling of those parts of me to just want to be understood and not be pushed or rushed.

I agree.
