My exT is now my tutor at the same college she saw me as a client.
I really want my file - all the letters I wrote and all the notes she made after each session.
I'm just wondering how I go about this? Do I ask her for it and see what she says or is there a protocol I have to abide by or something in writing etc.?

I'm from England if that helps?!

You might have to make an application in writing, but depending on your relationship with her, you could try asking her informally first?

Do you want a copy for your records (the letters you wrote) or are you asking for them back so they are not in your file? I'm not sure the guidelines in England. I know that my journal is not part of my legal medical file, for now as I had access to it when I was employed at the same location as my T. My T is going to be going into private practice and I don't know how she'll work with my journal there. My guess is that since it hasn't been part of the legal record it still won't; though I should ask.

My T has been willing to share with me any of her notes if I asked; however, if I wanted a printed copy to leave the office with, I would have to request it formally from the release of information group at the clinic.
