hello couch.
I always come in, say hello, then end up disappearing.
I'm bad at this.

J (new T) is back today, and I'll see him after work. I'm kind of sad about it, honestly. Because he's not S (ex T). And because I don't really feel anything positive about J being back or seeing him. No relief. The pain I was feeling is still right here, not in any way soothed by stupid J being back. It's just not even close to the same. I feel I could honestly stop therapy with J completely and feel no pain over it -- part of me wants to walk away. I'm actually almost irritated/angry that he's back. IDK. I feel like I had a tiny connection with him before his vacation, but now I don't have any, and I am like... just angry in his direction.

important (not really) problem of the day - do I replace my flagging 5 year old macbook pro with a new one or do I give windows 10 a shot?

Of course, get a new Mac.

But, also 5 years? Wow, that's brave. I don't dare run my laptops for more than 3 years max -- burnt my fingers once when I ended up losing all my data and work when the whole thing crashed irrietrievably.

Macs can last a long time!
I've had my macbook 6 years now, and it's still going strong!

That said -- I have nothing important saved locally to the machine.

I back up twice a week on two different external drives. And that is why I like getting macs -because they go forever. Before I switched - I had to replace pcs about every 2-3 years.

I hate the new mac ports (or lack of them) and lack of mag charger - I don't want to by a bunch of stupid add ons to get enough usb ports. I could get a new older one.

Windows 10 isn't anything special.

Busy day today. Headed now to go yell at the post office, then going to a matinee with H. Coming home after the movie to work on school stuff.

At least I won't have time to be utterly depressed about the dumb stuff going on at the present.

It is not whether windows 10 is special - it is a question of whether it will make me want to toss the computer into the wall like the last version I used did. I have no idea what version the school's computer uses because I try not to use it at all.

Yeah, I was all ready to buy a new MacBook Air and the lack of ports made me decide I could keep my old one going for a few more years.

I got my current mac laptop in 2010... 👍🏼👍🏼

It's functional but I have no great faith that it will survive much longer. (Currently deleting music so that I have enough room to install a printer driver.) But the two things preventing me from getting a new one are the $ and how they took away all the ports, seriously, why the eff would you do that. I think I will have to get an older refurbished one.

The taking away the cd drive on the mb air was an easy and cheap enough fix with the external cd drive... but with the new ones, if you're in a creative career and need to connect a multitude of things, not so much. The bluetooth is just another thing to go wrong at a critical moment.

Trying so hard to stay awake this morning. Thankfully I get to leave early on Fridays, but that means I also have to see DM. There was something else I was going to say but..... it's left the building.
