I has first appointment with psychiatrist after failing handful of medications. He told me I just need to be patient and give a chance to certain medication to work fully before I stop taking it. He thinks I feel all the side effect just because I'm anxious, but the side effect has been really impossible to tolerate. Am I just impatient? How can I tolerate all the side effect when I don't even know if it works or if the side effect goes away.

Your discomfort from the medication is real and I can really understand.

How long have you been on the medication? What are your side effects?

Some anti depressants can take around 6-8 weeks before improvements are noted.

It sounds like you may be impatient. Lemoncake has some good questions.
