I made up my mind. Tomorrow when I walk into the office, I'm just going to sit on the couch instead of the chiar. I've been sitting in the big chair for quite a while, I think it really is his chair, I'm not sure. I don't know why, but I'm gunna do it. I wonder what he will think about it. Will he say anything or will he just go with it? I might even turn and rest my back on the arm and put my feet up. Why? I really don't know. Maybe I've reached a turning point. I want the couch!

Peace

Can we make predictions??? Huh, huh, p-l-e-a-s-e :-)

I think he'll comment. Yes! Do "lounge" over the arm and put your feet up. I would bring a small pillow from home, if I were you, to put behind your back (and give you courage :-) I brought an afghan of my grandmother's to one session and covered myself with it. You going to kick off your shoes before you put your feet on the couch? LOL, what fun, need any flies on the wall?

I'm not sure which seat my T likes to sit in. He has always let me decide where I want to sit and then strategically places himself so he can try to get some eye contact. I sit in different places each time. I usually make T move the furniture for me. It is always back to normal when I come in, but it never is when I leave.
It started out as something I just felt comfortable doing when I started, changing places each time, but now I just like to do it to be annoying and find all the bits of carpet that have not been vacuumed for years I'm changing my chair tomorrow!

I have also worn PJs and slippers on many occasions, especially when I'm in a really bad way - I don't think I could when I have some self esteem and pride in my look

My new T has a couch, her desk and two other chairs in her office. When I saw her for the first time I asked her where she wanted me to sit and she said anywhere. I panicked and thought this is a test like there is deep psychological meaning the chair you sit in. I took the one with the little table next to it so i could put my drink down on the table. She sat on the couch. I figured she would have taken the chair directly across from me so she could look at me. I don't look at her and if I did I'd have to turn my head and I think it would get crooked if I did that. I keep wanting to sit on the couch but am stuck in my chair.

I got so wrapped up with wanting to change my seat that I almost went to my appointment a day ahead of time. LOL

I will see my T on Wednesday. I will still change my seat. I'm thinking that I might even let him start the session. I might say something like "What's on your mind?" Or "You go first this time."

Peace

I love your ideas on starting the session. Too funny. I wish I had the courage to say something like that. It's quite a lot of pressure to always have to think of some place to start, I'd like for her to be in the "hot seat" for once!

I'm leaving for my appointment in about 10 minutes. I'm excited. I am going to do this. Will update later tonight if I can.

Can't wait to hear. When I went to T yesterday, I sat in my usual chair, and I looked over at the couch and I thought of you.

I'm changing my chair tomorrow!
