Does your t have a tattoo or several? Did they ever show you or explain the meaning behind them? If you want to share please do.
I had one of the most interesting sessions with Kashi to date. As I've posted I've had repetitive dreams that end up conjuring up old songs I associate with a friend that passed a decade ago. I'm a little embarrassed as an atheist/skeptic that I'm starting to feel like these songs are a message from beyond the grave. I feel silly and superstitious but I do find these experiences interesting. Kashi shared his own experiences with things that happened that were too eerie to be coincidences. The same animal showed up in his life after someone important had passed. 2 of his four tatts are of this animal. One is very large on his calf. He explained all but one. The last one seemed the most personal and painful and he said he would share at another time. He said he doesn't tell a lot of people about any of his tats because it usually makes him cry while re telling the backstory . Artieswimson you would have loved this session I am touched that he would share with me. I shared my own spirit animal moments as certain symbols pop up in my life and are oddly like path markers to the right direction. Even though I don't really believe in anything spiritual I feel like listening to these weird events anyways. |

DBC had tattoos. They weren't visible - I only know about them because she wrote a memoir of her recovery from a near-fatal motorcycle accident (part is on Google books) and mentioned them. She said every part of her body that wouldn't be seen when wearing professional clothing had them and there was no space left.
One was a phoenix - post-accident. The others I don't remember. A ladybug I think? No idea about the others. I would guess not - maybe Info does, or maybe they had little roses somewhere. Eta: I went back to the book - yes, one was a ladybug. Another was an orchid. |

Mine has a small one that's visible from time to time. I haven't asked her about it because I'm too wrapped up in myself and the symbolism of the tat seems self-explanatory, although I don't know the story behind getting it.
Did you get any more clarity on your dream? |

Thanks for asking ruh roh!
I saw this: And I shared with Kashi. The big insight that he caught onto is that music ear worms are musical snippets that are involuntary thoughts that the brain treats as an unfinished task. So what unfinished business do I need to attend to? It may have been as simple as calling a friend that was also close to our passed friend. There is a part of all this that relates to Kashi but I don't know how exactly Embarrassingly I told him that one of the songs I seem to associate with him - didn't tell him that the song is essentially about a young closeted guy about to get married to a woman but meets a charming older gent who advises him to "return the rings". Geebus. I don't think I could tell him that part. Hoping he looks up the song himself but I don't think he will. He doesn't see himself in any of the stuff I mentioned. Well no resolution but a fascinating session. Last edited by growlycat; Aug 26, 2017 at 08:37 PM. Reason: Freudian spell check slip |

As far as I know, the 70+ year old jewish woman does not have any tattoos. I did not see any on the second one either. I would not be all that interested in them even if I did see one. I am not into tattoos and I never care about what made someone get one or get the one they did. Symbolism like that is pretty much not my cup of tea.

Only one of my t's had a tattoo. Ex-t had one of two birdies perched on a thin branch...her colleague/business partner had drawn it up and it was tattooed on the back of her wrist area.
She had also done the same for her colleague, except hers looked like a weed plant. Lol. |

Thanks for the link, gc. Man, that guy is exhausting to listen to. Plus, I now have that Rick Astley ear worm.
Are you sure the dream is connected to your therapist? Could it be that your therapist represents something of your own unfinished business? |

Unfinished business with my old friend maybe? The smiths songs/morrisey songs are usually about (take your pick):
Depression Lack of connection Being dissatisfied Sexual disappointment or dissatisfaction or just not doing the deed at all Veiled and not so veiled hints st homosexuality Veiled and not do veiled hints at violence Being snarky and catty but funny So much unfinished business with part of all that. |

I have never asked but I highly doubt she does. A few years ago I got a very small flower on my ankle it was my mom's favorite flower so it was in memory of her. T and I had a conversation regarding my tattoo as I am not a person one would suspect would have one. T never mentioned having one...i suspect ahe would have said something if she did

GC -- I swear it's your influence! I had a loooong involved dream about Madonna last night (and yes, there's a connection between her and a friend who passed).
In it, she was all into community co-op culture and giving me tips on how to fix my house (the ceiling was leaking in the dream). As for tattoos -- nope, neither current T not for me T are likely to have any. They're very very very straight and narrow (hmm...what does that tell me about the Ts I choose?!). |

My last T has at least one tattoo on his right upper arm. I only saw it once, in a summer Saturday session when he was wearing short sleeves - the one time I recall him wearing short sleeves (in spite if my repeated wishes). I am not sure what the image is as only a small part was visible, but looked like something abstract, black and interesting. Seeing it actually had a massive effect on me: I could not stop myself from fantasizing about him all day, the extent of it actually almost scared me as I did not have any kind of overwhelming ET for him even though I had always found him very attractive in many ways, physically included. I could not image him inked all over his body but having one or even a few quality tattoos fit his image and personality, I think. Well, at least I like it as I love high quality body art, have a tattoos myself. Anyway, my reaction to seeing him in short sleeves and that ink "leaking" out was very interesting. I did tell him about it briefly but not the fact that the tattoo was part of the trigger because I thought it would be intrusive to comment on his body features. I told him later about some of my inks and when I got a new one in emails but he never commented on it and we never brought it up in session.

I choose to take it more loosely, as getting a (possibly bad/trite/maudlin) song stuck in someone's head without their consent/knowledge. We can call the dream version growlyrolling. |
