For those who do text with your T....

have any of you ever had a "session" via text, for the regular length of session, no charge and chat was casual mostly but a bit of therapy tossed in??

not weirded out by it, but just not sure if it's a common thing for T and client or not

Nope, not here. I've had phone calls that were about the length of a session and at no charge, but those were mostly therapy. As in, each call consisted mostly of therapy (not that most of the calls were therapy).

We occasionally text, but not lengthy. I suppose there is some therapy in those texts, not sure but usually it's just informative

I wish I could, might help me feel more close sometimes, but then knowing time I'd probably get more attached, and I'm trying to avoid that!

I don't really text much with most people. I did text the woman when my person was dying about the decisions I had to make so I could tell someone who had no interest in it before I told all those who did. I did not particularly care or want her to text back.
But I really don't want to just chat with the woman. I have friends to chat with.

No, all of our outside contact is therapy related. Either about some problem I'm having not some progress or update I feel like I need to report. I think I might be a little freaked out if our outside contact weren't so predictable- and short.

We sometimes switch some messages back and forth, some are not therapy related as such, but in a way they are as it is about connection anyway.

I've only ever texted during the last 10 mins of a session. I was incredibly angry and already kinda walked out on him. He messaged me just after and suggested we use up the left over time, so we did.

Nope, never anything like that. I don't text him very much at all now, although if I want/need to text him, I can but it's always therapy focussed.

Nope. We only use text for scheduling. And phone calls are only 15mins or else I have to pay for it.

Yes, I did this summer but only in an emergency. I was staying with family and had zero privacy. But my mom's alchoholism was causing a medical crisis and I needed his support. It was truly helpful. I paid him for his time although he initially refused payment but I insisted.
