I'm feeling super super guilty right now because yesterday at the end of the session I didn't pay the therapist. Basically here it works like this, at the end of the month you pay the T (he has certain documents that attest this I dont know how to explain) and you make the payment since it's in private. But for example with my previous therapist, I didn't pay directly to her (I didn't give her the money) because I had to go to the bank and make the payment there. But it's because my previous T was in my university service, while this new T is private.
And I thought that I needed to go to the bank and pay there I didn't realize that it wasn't like this. The therapist asked me in a gentle way, but then he said ok you'll do it next week.
But I'm super guilty because I didn't want not to pay, it wasn't my purpose, I want to pay him of course but I didn't realize that I needed to give him the money.
I'm feeling like a stupid and mean person, and he's giving me his time. Maybe he really needed the money for this week but now because of me he doesn't have it.

I think that you're maybe being a little too hard on yourself. I think you made an honest mistake and I'm pretty sure that your T feels the same. Offering hugs if you want them

Not to worry. An honest oversight. He said it'd be okay to pay him next week.

I think it's his responsibility to ensure that his clients understand the payment details, and if there was a misunderstanding that's more on him than on you. I also think it's likely no big deal to him at all. I'm sure he thought no more about it after saying "Okay, so you'll pay me next week." Try not to ruminate on it if you can.

It's a misunderstanding, and your T totally understands.
I've had to pay for sessions the next time before for similar reasons - I've even walked out after just forgetting to pay

I have had times where I didn't have checks or plain just forgot. It happens. But like your T my T is understanding. Just pay at your next appointment.
