I went to my therapist today at 11:30. Turns out that the appointment was for 11 and I was late at the hospital. She didn't seem pissed but I felt really really bad. I asked her what could be done and she said that we still had 30 minutes and I felt really really hurt. We talked for 5 minutes and suddenly there was a siren and we had to evacuate the wing. On the way out she was talking to her friend who is a doctor and I was walking alone. I felt so rejected and terrible.
She obviously didn't charge me and we fixed a new appointment for Monday.

I finally got out my apartment yesterday and got mugged at a busy street. Then this happens. Maybe I should just stay in.
I have been diagnosed as being bipolar and am very depressed right now. Have important exams in a few days and don't know what to do.

I am sorry all that happened. It really sucks when muck ups like that occur that cause you to miss out or lose your time. It is especially hard when you are holding out for that time or looking forward to it because you need the support.
I would feel angry and upset too. Nothing can be done about it to change it, but I would still feel angry and hurt just like you.
I hope Monday comes quickly for you and I hope it all goes smoothly next time.
Thanks for this!

She should have walked with you in my opinion. I’m sorry this happened and on top of a mugging to boot. I hope your t is more supportive going forward.

That sounds awful. I would understand that the T can't give a full session when I am late, but I would want to reschedule for as soon as possible.

Maybe you could tell your therapist how it made you feel when she didn't walk with you during the evacuation and instead talked with a colleague. See what she has to say about it. Maybe she was respecting patient confidentiality once you and her were in public space. I hope she would at least be able to empathize with how you felt.
Thanks for this!
