My current T was supposed to make therapy more affordable for me but he never did.
However, the thing that I like about him is that he didn’t give up on me. He said that he doesn’t give up on people. Now I found a T who has a sliding scale fee so he’s cheaper for me. But the location is inconvenient and he has a 5 week waiting list. And I’m meeting with a new psychiatrist on January 17th. I just feel overwhelmed. |

Sorry, I might just be very thick, but what’s your question exactly?

Did he forget or did he decide not to do it?

That does sound overwhelming.
I hope the meeting with the new psychiatrist next week helps to clarify or narrow down your choices.

Choosing Ts and pdocs is such a shot in the dark. It's really hard to tell who will be helpful and who won't at least for me. I tend to think all Ts will be helpful and clearly that is not the case (from what I read here-including your former pdoc).
I don't think I would be too excited about seeing a T who had a 5 week waiting list. What happens if you need extra sessions? Or are you perhaps looking for someone who won't do anything extra, after your terrible pdoc experience? |

I think the initial 5 week waiting period is for new patients. I had a previous appointment with him but had to cancel because I was sick.
My current T has some benefits and some downsides. He did tell me that he cared about me though. I didn’t even have to ask him, but he somehow knew that I needed to hear those words. I guess what I want is to see both therapists. I was in a bad place earlier and emailed T and he wasn’t concerned. But maybe after I meet with the new T, I will decide to stick with just him. And, I was fortunate to get into this new psychiatrist so fast because they are only open 3 days a week and the first appointment is 90 minutes. I’m just so stressed in my life and I need to feel heard. |

I haven’t been to therapy since the fallout with the pharmacist situation. My T listened to my emails about that problem for weeks.

And I feel guilty about using our family income for therapy and medications.

I’m having trouble forgiving myself for the times that I’ve messed up with people. I feel like a worthless and bad person.

Can you afford to see two therapists? That might be something to take into consideration.

Well if you can’t afford your current T as it stands, then it makes sense that you won’t be able to see both of them.

I don’t know if I want to stop seeing my current T. But I’m disappointed that he has not responded to my obvious despair.

It may be reasonable if I see each every 2 weeks. The psychiatrist is spreading sessions out to every 3 months once the medications are stabilized.

I feel horrible now with severe anxiety and panic. I sent my dad with 2 of my prescriptions to be filled but I haven’t received a text from the pharmacy that I always get when they’re ready to be picked up.

Hang in there, Hope. I am sorry things are so bad right now.
I think it makes sense to make an appointment with the new T just so that you have the slot saved. You can always cancel (with decent notice) if the time draws near and you have decided to stick with your current T. |
