Definitely ask your t this. It is a really important question.

A well trained EMDR T should be able to tell if you have dissociated during EMDR based on your responses. Mine can usually tell or will question me on how present I am if he is suspicious.

I would talk with you T. If you have disassociated before she may recognize the signs. Also an Emdr is like to know the signs to look for. For me it is very obvious because I completely shut down and cannot respond

My EMDR Ts also have known when I was dissociating and they would ask if I needed to go to Safe place and then direct me there.

My current T, trained in EMDR, seems attuned to when I'm dissociative. What he told me is that before we start processing that I'll need to be able to monitor that state change myself. I'd definitely talk to your therapist about it.
