Also, what is your latest trauma about?
Insurance covers one session a week (after the deductible is met, which it hasn't been met yet for the current year) and I pay the copay of $18. The other 2 sessions I pay out of pocket at the negotiated insurance price - $92.

The latest trauma was last July. My husband set our house on fire while I was in it. A 6 hour police stand-off ensued. I've been dealing with that and his court stuff and getting a restraining order against him and him going to prison. Also dealing with the dissolution of a 27 year relationship and coming to terms that he was emotionally, physically and sexually abusive to me for many of those years. The latest opening of the wound was last week when I got notified that he'd been transferred from a minimum security prison to maximum security and I'm left guessing what happened to make that come about and I worry about his safety in that environment.

Thanks for this!

Thank you for sharing this with me. I am sorry to hear about what you have been through. I need to pay $175 per session and it is costly, so it is excellent to see that you have a far better option, I assume you are in the U.S.?

Yes, I am in the US. I was paying his full fee of $120 before I decided to start utilizing insurance (I had a severance package from a prior job that covered health care expenses). My therapist is a PsyD. I'm wondering if yours has sliding scale or something like that?
Thanks for this!

PsyD, as in you mean a clinical psychologist? I am seeing a general psychologist right now. It has a sliding scale, if I see her twice per week, so it would reduce from $175 to $160 per session. For a clinical psychologist, it costs a lot more here in Australia. It would be, as I remember around $250.
