It´s easy to imagine a therapist as just someone sitting in a therapy room but to get perspective and perhaps normalize things one can think of things your therapist most likely does every week:
This is how the therapist most likely will feel sometime during a week:
The therapist will most likely have had common ailments several times in his/her life like:

I've gotten to witness burps in session (only from the male T's I've seen...the females seem able to hold it in!) And yawns, too.

I see my T at his house and once through the upper window I could see his dressing gown hanging on the back of the door... so obviously then I had to picture him in his dressing gown.

It would really bother me if my T burped during session. That just seems rude.

T has crappy taste in tv shows. But the way he explained it made sense. He likes pure escapism. He likes crappy vampire movies too although he hasn’t admitted to liking twilight.
Anne rice novels, a yes. So I can picture him on a couch watching this stuff |

MC generally doesn't excuse himself or anything. And he could make a big show of yawning--at least try to conceal it! Don't make exaggerated noises while doing it, FFS! He's also blown his nose loudly in the middle of my talking. And he tends not to cover his mouth when the coughs. So...really, kind of like my 6-year-old... |

Mine yawns often, which bothers me. Makes me feel like what I'm saying is boring her.

Mine yawns every session. He apologies and says he yawns only with me. Lol.
I guess he does a lot of "normal" things from the first post, but it so difficult to imagine. (and I'm still jealous of people who can see him doing "normal" things) (I don't mean pooping or burping, but washing dishes, wearing home clothes, eating, getting drunk and so on) |

This reminds me of one time when I ran into MC right before a session with ex-T. I had wanted to ask him about scheduling an extra session, and he said we could talk briefly after my session with ex-T. So session with ex-T ended, and his office door was open, but he wasn't in there. Ex-T offered to check with receptionist--she came back and said, laughing, "He's in the men's room! I wouldn't knock on that door." She wouldn't let me wait in her office, so I told the receptionist to let him know when comes out that I was waiting. After sitting for a few minutes in the waiting room, I realized he was probably pooping. And felt sort of awkward when he came out to get me a few minutes after that. All I could think when he shook my hand when I left was "I hope you washed your hands!" Helped knock down the transference a bit, I think...

Well, there's the throw back your head openmouthed and burp out a chorus (that is pretty controllable and rude) and then there's the try to swallow it and press your fist to your mouth simultaneously and let out a dainty urp, the second of course is what I mean. |

Yeah, T1 was never rude or disgusting about it. It wasn't loud or anything and he always apologised! Just... Seriously needs to drink less lucozade.

So I guess my issue is with people who choose not to minimize their burping by, most importantly, keeping their mouths closed, and secondly, addressing whatever is causing them to burp in the first place (like treating acid reflux, not eating/drinking food in public that would make it worse, which my office mate was also guilty of). Maybe that's asking too much, but I don't think it's any more socially acceptable to go around burping than it is to go around farting. |

My T does this thing with his tongue mid sentence. At first I found it funny but now it’s endearing. He also sometimes lifts his sleeve up to scratch his arm. I love these little snippets of his humanity.

My T doesn't yawn, but she does do a lot of sighing. Sometimes I think she's trying to get my attention because I've been silent too long and we're just sitting there.

My T doesn't yawn or burp in sessions either (I mean not usually... probably he's done it once or something), but he moves his lips like a fish, just faster, when thinking. Which is cute if you don't look at him often and talk to him an hour a week, but it would bother the hell out of me when talking to a friend.

My T gets Monday blues. She drinks coffee. Calls IT for help with her work computer. (I work in IT, so I found her mentioning calling IT amusing) Haha.
