I “got in touch with my feelings” as I felt my own competence and was less deferential to the world. I needed to regulate my emotions less. Therapy turned out no shortcut for living.

I found cbt to be actually damaging and would never try dbt. Those are just not what I need or want. I have no objection if someone finds it useful.
