That has been my experience, as well. My longtime T actually terminated with a friend of mine. She didn't tell me about this, but the friend did.

Interesting. I have a hard time imagining an issue that would cause a significant conflict of interest, but maybe I'm not that exciting. lol But I certainly don't fault a T who has that rule. Although, there's also about a 2 degree of separation where I live (my T went to high school with a woman I met in my birth class for example), so that may play a part, too.

I bet my t squeezes as many people as she can into her work days. She sees people on 45 minute intervals with barely a minute between, 4 days a week. On the fifth day, she goes to the big city to see clients there (not sure if this is every week or less frequently). I've seen colleagues there, leaving before me, but I hope they've never seen me!

She's a full time psychologist, so therapy and psych assessments are large portions of her job. A couple of years back, she said she has around 40+ clients.

I think my T sees at least 30 clients, maybe more. She has admitted it's too many but it doesn't seem like she's cutting down. I think she gives special treatment to those who need it. She once said I'm the only client who emails her, but my guess is that changed over the years. She probably would attend a funeral for another client too. I doubt that she signs "love" on replies to everyone's email. I don't feel special to her anymore but it's okay because I know how much she cares.

At the moment his main job is working for a suicide prevention charity and he fills his spare time with clients. I don't feel special, just one of maybe 8 at the most. But before that he worked full time in the NHS.
