Have you had dreams about T?? Do you tell them?

I don't remember having dreams about long term T. She may be a part of a dream on occasion.

Last night I had a weird seem about T. Something happened at her office so we were meeting at her home. She has told me she has a 2 yo son. Three older girls kept popping into the room. She explained they were her husband's from a previous marriage. The girls were dirty and very unkept, her house was really messy, and she uses a lot of profanity.

The thing is that she has mentioned one thing she struggles with as a new mom is that no matter how much she tries to keep the house clean there are toys out. Everything in her office is always immaculate simple but immaculate. As far as step kids go I highly doubt there are any never mind that they would be dirty. She only says minor profanity once in a great while and I am pretty sure that is the real her. I am the same way so I suppose it is possible that it is not whay she is like in real life. So I am trying to figure out what the whole thing means.

Yes and yes! Jungian dream work is a big part of my therapy. I started writing down my dreams when I first started seeing current t, and have a whole box of spiral notebooks filled with my dreams from the past going on 7 years now. I haven't had a super lot of them about t, but there have been at least a dozen or so. Maybe more.

Yes and yes. All have been related to abandonment

Yes, I have had dreams, and no, I would never in a million years admit to them.

I had dreams but the therapist's head or face never appeared in them. She was always in shadow or behind a wall.
I did not tell the woman about them. I tried telling her about recurring nightmares I have and she so ****ed it up that I did not bother with any other dreams

Yes and yes. My t is great at helping me interpret and find meaning in my dreams whether she is in them or not.

As for your dream, maybe the girls represent you or young parts of you that feel uncared for or neglected by your t. Could be something around t not being the “real” mother and that makes these girls (whoever they are) feel unworthy. Maybe your t represents your mom and the way you feel about her. Idk. Dreams are hard!

I have wondered if it is because I have put T on somewhat on a pedestal and she does not have a perfect life. She seems so sweet and happy with her life, she is Catholic like myself and pretty conservative as well. A part of me has wanted to be a T for many years. My senior year of business college I realized I was in the wrong major and wanted to be a T. That was on the mid 1990's. She told me this week she thought I would be an amazing T if i went that route. I wonder if it is I am afraid she doesn't have such a great life...

I tend to have nightmares about my therapists. Them getting angry with me, judging me, hurting me such as hitting me, sexually abusing me etc.

With therapists I'm attached to, I dream of abandonment such as being fired as a client in a sudden final session. I dream I'm no longer a client and am desperately trying to get their attention while they're coldly ignoring me or they throw me out. In some dreams, it's like I'm a ghost unable to affect the world around me, much less them.

Or I'll dream about our work. Along the lines of an angry therapist, therapist deciding to abruptly fire me etc.

I don't tend to tell them.

As far as I can recall, I've only had one dream about current T. I tend to have dreams about people who have hurt me. The dream with current T was because I really was afraid she was going to leave me. I've had a lot of dreams about ex-T. Again, it's because she hurt me. I just have bad and weird dreams.

T and I don't discuss dreams.

Yes, I dream fairly often about T and I did about T1 too. I sometimes talk about them in therapy. They're usually pretty transparent anxiety dreams.

I had a dream, or nightmare(!) that my T was going to move to Paris, randomly! At the end of our session a few weeks ago I causally asked “so, any plans on moving anywhere soon, like Paris?” She looked at me, we both laughed, and I told her it was a dream I had a couple of nights ago. She just said no, don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere. 😊 although obviously I can’t beleive this....😕

I've had plenty of dreams about my T and I find it enjoyable to discuss them with T. Once in awhile I have a dream that I won't share because it's too personal but generally it's fun to explore their meaning.
