It seems to me, that one of Madame Ts techniques was to increase the tension in the hope that I would break it. The idea was that I would realise something or at least get some catharsis. Sometimes this worked. But sometimes not.

There were two problems. Firstly, I could see what she was doing and I resented being manipulated. This made me distrust her.

Secondly, for several reasons I didn't always break the tension. Sometimes she was pushing in the wrong direction. Sometimes she was pushing in the right direction, but I spotted the trap and refused to fall into it.

At this point, I feel it was her job to break the tension. But she often left it too late or never broke the tension at all. The tension would become a permanent barrier between us.
