Couch 176: The happy cake couch

I have a cravin' for bacon.

Not exactly the same thing but I've been shouted at when I was a younger working at
a pharmacy because our prices were too high. It wasn't nice and I did feel like crying. There was a thread way back where it was discussed that T's were human after all, but I think we can hurt them.

When I was angry at R I said something along the lines of that I hated him, that he wasn't a good therapist and that maybe I should file a complain about him.

He said hearing that made him sad, but it was the way he said it that I knew it did get to him.

For a profession that holds themselves out as so emotionally aware and useful, the practitioners can be so entirely clueless.

It's all good. I've had to go back more than once because I've skipped a word out.

I've noticed that missing words are generally:
1. Verbs, which are easy to guess or
2. The word "not", which of course reverses the meaning of the whole sentence.

Aw, I think ice cream is good for the soul.
The body knows when you need it, and it processes ice cream differently when it's for soul-soothing! I mean, I'm not a scientist, but... that's gotta be right. Right??

Is anyone else watching the bachelor/ette/in paradise/etc? It's the most mindless, ridiculous thing, but my daughters got us into it, and my wife and I continue to watch it. We justify it as "another way to connect with the kids" as if it's a family service... but we're totally hooked.

Also, it's all these kids being young and vulnerable and trying to find love in such contrived ways, but they're so hopeful, they overlook the weirdness of it all. There's something endearing in its silliness.

And leaving out the word not can get you kicked out of a restaurant in a foreign country where you don’t know the language well and you tell the proprietor after his rant on invading Iraq: “we do [not] like the war.”

Bagels are just too much bread for me, although we have a local grocery store chain that has a sandwich counter and I've discovered that a toasted garlic bagel with cream cheese, avocado, and tomato with salt and pepper is a really fulfilling breakfast.
