I'm on my fourth therapy session for delusional disorder. So far, the therapist has tried to challenge my beliefs, but it doesn't work because it only serves to make those beliefs even stronger.
I don't think my therapist understands that I can only work with my beliefs and not challenge them. My therapist actually wanted to refer me to her colleague, but after talking to her colleague, she's decided to continue treating me. I'm not sure how confident she is in treating me. I'm not sure what we can do in therapy that will be beneficial to me.

That sounds like a difficult situation to be in. Do you have the opportunity to look for another therapist? Maybe someone who is more skilled in delusional disorder? Kit.
Thanks for this!

Thanks, Slumberkitty. Unfortunately I know no one who is skilled with treating delusional disorder. I intend to tell her how I feel at the next session, but am worried about how to go about it. Does anyone have any pointers on how to tell your therapist you think therapy isn't working?

Tell her as it is - that it isn't working. Simple as that.

Yes, simply tell or write her a letter.
