Told T how even after all these years I hate, hate, hate knocking at her door and wish I could do a bewitched thing and wrinkle my nose Anna be in the room already.
T said "because knocking means you're asking for something, asking to be let in?" I did that double take thing and said "yeah, yeah, that's it" I couldn't piece together why I always felt this way. What the difference was between the very first moment of arriving, and being in the therapy room. But yeah. It's like when she's once said "it's like you've been caught wanting" |

I can relate. Its a difficult feeling. But now that you recognize it for what it is, it can be delved into if you want and can be soothed. ((hugs))

I’m grateful my T comes out to get clients because if knocking was required, I’d never make it in. I also don’t want to want anything or for someone to know I might ‘want’ but I have an enormous problem feeling like I might be disturbing someone. So I can never knock - you’re very brave! ☺️

My T has a doorbell that chimes when you enter her waiting room. Relatively painless on my part but I'm always self conscious if I have to pee while I'm waiting so it chimes multiple times.

I always knock, unless she leaves the door open. I don't know, I just feel I have to knock. Like I'm being entitled or rude if I just open the door even though she chimes me in using this system the clinic has. Your T makes a lot of sense.
