Hi all,

I haven't been on meds in two years and therefore haven't seen a pdoc in that time either. I was wondering, aside from the paperwork that I will have to turn in when I get there, what else would you do to be prepared for the appointment? I want to make sure they have what they need to get the most out of this first appointment. I believe my main issue is the severe anxiety that has become overwhelming and unbearable, resulting in a relapse in SI
Possible trigger:
three weeks ago.

One good thing is to be prepared to tell what medications you've tried in the past and whether or not they were successful. Also if there is medications that typically cause you problems it's good to tell that. Good luck at your appointment.
Thanks for this!

Also contact info for any past mental health professionals/treatment from whom they might want records if you'd be willing to sign a release of information. You don't have to agree to sign, of course, but it can make things easier.

Today is the day and I’m terrified! I don’t know what to think about going to a pdoc again. I mean I know I need the help and hopefully she can do that. Ugh! We’ll see.

It was pretty good. She decided to put me on Lexapro 5mg once a day for two weeks, if there's no side effects or minimal anyway I can take 2 for 10 mg a day. It will take a 1-2 months for it to really take effect but at least it is something. I see her again in a month. We'll see. At least I am doing something about it...I guess.

I'm glad that it went pretty good. At least it is a place to start. Have you been on lexapro before? I hope it works for you. ((hugs))
Thanks for this!
