Which would you prefer? I'd prefer no work at all just to win the lottery but hey ho.

I think I prefer having my session after work. It sometimes takes me a while to destress and get my head in the right place but if I have it early in the morning, as my T said today, I've got one foot outside the door in the adult world.

This is because I don't want the session upsetting me and affecting my functionality at work (grounding exercises or no) so I either don't fully engage or talk about easy subjects. Any thoughts?

I prefer to leave work to go to my session and then be able to go home after. Sometimes I'm a little spaced out or upset after my session and sometimes I look like I've been crying, so I don't really like going back to work if I don't have to. It usually works out that way about half the time for me. I don't generally hold back in session if I have to go to work, though. I just try to take a little break in between if I need to.

I prefer having my session after work. My T does seem tired then, but it's better for me because if I am upset or something, I don't have to worry about getting my game face on and heading back to work. Plus I like to have time to decompress and I really don't get that if I have to go to work. But I don't really have a choice because I go to work pretty early and I've not met a T that starts before me. Kit.

My preference is to have my appointment on my day off. For a few years we were able to make it work. Since that hasn't worked that way for a few years, I always go directly after work. No way I could go to work after.

I would prefer it after but unfortunately it's not an option at the moment. I am hoping to drop my Wednesday afternoon commitments soon so that I can have my post-session processing time back.

I prefer therapy first thing in the morning. My therapist is tired at the end of the day, and so am I.

Definitely before. I always had my T appointments first thing in the morning before work. I usually found therapy sessions quite energizing so it was a good way to start the day.

Therapist before this one I always did morning sessions would dry my tears and go directly to work since it was in the same building.

Therapist now I see him after work, I think I prefer it this way so if I start crying I won't have to worry about explaining things to coworkers. I've never noticed that he seems tired as the day goes by. I know by the time I see him I just feel spent; but a lot of it has to do with new job and trying to adjust.

I've tried both ways and really like after work sessions.

I have to also say that New T has really late sessions (late to me) like 8:30 at night, 7:30 at night. I don't like those. I like when I can get a 5 o'clock, right after work. Or even a 6:30 is okay because I can go home, go have coffee, eat dinner, etc. But the really late ones are hard for me because I go to bed around 8:30 usually and then I don't have time to wind down after the session. So sometimes that's bad too. Kit.

After work has always been my only option. I don't have a career where I can leave work during the day, and my day starts early. Never bothered me. I kind of liked leaving work and having that time in therapy just for myself. And if it was a rough session, I could go home and relax.

I work the first shift. Her office is only a couple minutes from my job. So I usually schedule appointments half an hour or so after my shift ends.

My appointments are at night and it works for me. I'm a night owl and would get nothing out of an early morning appointment. I like being able to process what happened before going to sleep.

After work, definitely. But then, my T doesn't have morning sessions anyway. I like being able to veg after really tough sessions without having to worry about responsibilities.

Monday is after. Thursdays I don't work.
At this point it doesn't really matter whether before or whatever.

I currently don't have a job, but once I start working I'll make sure that I have off on my usual session day. When I did an internship, I used to work before and after. Working before the session is fine, but don't like getting up early and am usually sleepy in those cases. After session I just don't function and can't concentrate.

Not work per se but I like sessions after classes, never before. Some of my older sessions have just left me emotionally drained and it's better for me to have time to process stuff especially if it's been very heavy.

My days off are weekdays, so I can schedule sessions on days off. I'm very grateful for this.

If I had to do a session on the same day I worked, I'd prefer to do it after.

For a while I had EMDR sessions before work for a while. It was valuable practice in compartmentalization, but I wouldn't do it again.

A few hours before work. Then hopefully I have a stressful work day so that I can get out of my post therapy blues.

I work 4 days a week between 9 and 10 hours. T didnt see clients on my day off but had 6:30pn appointments so I saw her after work.

Emdr t also doesn't see people on my day off. Her last appointment is 5pm so I leave work about 1 1/2 hour early
