Thanks. I didn’t think I was being unreasonable either. And I tried that care credit thing and got declined due to insufficient credit history.
I told my H he adopted another dog but can’t afford the one we have. No response from him there...

jersey - my parents were EXTREMELY anti-pet. Especially they thought americans were foolish for how much money they spent on them. I didnt agree with them, i had cats for a while.

But i think end of life issues in america are similar for humans and companion animals. It practically becomes a matter of faith, like evangelical faith, where you are encouraged to believe that if you send in your money, you will get your miracle. Or simply that you can buy whatever result you want. But you cant buy health or life, and i think we forget that.

At work we used to say, if a project was falling way behind or was in bad shape, that you cant just throw money at a problem.

Maybe thats why your h brought the new dog home.

I just got an email from a former exchange student with his graduation photos and a lovely message thanking me for helping him learn English and welcoming him into my family.

It is partly touching because it is thoughtful and kind, and inspiring to know that welcoming these young people in our home has an impact on their lives.

And it was both touching and difficult to read because he talks about my grace with my family and the way I bless others, and he was in our home when things were really starting to go south. It just brought back a flood of memory of trying to keep things even and balanced and safe, and knowing that the outward appearance of calm and grace was real, it wasn't exactly false, but it took a lot of juggling on my part to keep it that way.

Whoo. I needed to dump that somewhere so I can go on about my day.

I would not have found his response to be useful, I just don't think that the indirect passive aggressive approach is the best way to address it.
But that is just how I see it.

She could wear "britches" made for in season dogs, or you can buy boy's underwear, out her tail through the fly, and use a pad.

My boss is driving me a bit wacky today. Usually she doesn't, but today I'm like banging my head against the wall (figuratively). Kit

My brain is already on Christmas vacation. I worked today but I couldn't tell you what I accomplished. Tonight is my nephew's birthday dinner, tomorrow I have the afternoon off, and I don't have any excuses left. I have to wrap all the gifts and clean because company is coming for Christmas!!!

Have a good evening couch.

Thanks, but it has to do more with the quality of her life. She already wears diapers in the house but usually she urinates so much that unlimitely she soaks through the diaper and the onsie holding it on. (We use a onsie to hold the diaper on because she does not have a tail. It was already docked when I rescued her. I tried dog diapers and human diapers and neither one holds up to her bladder even when she does not have an infection. She drinks her weight in water every day but it’s not an option to limit her water because of her other health issues, the vet said she must have access to her water at all times. I’m fighting an uphill battle with her. My boss just gave me a nice big Christmas bonus-that should cover most of her vet visit on Saturday.
