yep and her dog is great. she's had her 8 years, she caught on to potty training within a few weeks. I'm just so sick of people who toss dogs away like garbage. __________________ Grief is the price you pay for love. |

also I wont be doing the training business, due to my health issues. I need to get through all this crap first... which would be a few months. I'll see how I feel then if I wanna bother with it still __________________ Grief is the price you pay for love. |

I completely understand how you feel. I think your T is just trying to be careful to not say what is "average"--I wonder if he could possibly be worried it would make you feel worse if he said it was worse than average? What my T told me regarding my childhood really helped, and I don't know if it would help you or not. But he said how different people react differently to different childhoods. Someone could have what people might consider a terrible childhood and come out not that affected by it. Someone could have a childhood that seems OK from the outside, but their parents aren't attuned to them and their needs, and it really deeply affects them. And the latter is more the case for me. He put it better than that--I'm doing a bad job of explaining it.
He was saying it to me in the context that I don't feel I experienced what I called "capital-T trauma," but more a bunch of "lowercase-T trauma." Made more complicated because my parents weren't understanding and accepting of what I was going through (in terms of mental health issues--OCD, anxiety, depression, etc.). And my mom felt like I should be someone completely different from who I am. T also said to me that experiencing chronic intense anxiety can itself be a form of trauma, and that really helped me feel validated. Again, I have no idea if this is helpful or not. But I don't think it's necessarily about, say, ranking how bad someone's childhood was on some objective scale. But it's more the effect that childhood had on the person. What happened in your childhood truly had a profound effect on you. So to me, that's a traumatic childhood. It doesn't matter how it ranks compared to other clients (he really shouldn't be comparing you to them in terms of stuff like that either). I would definitely tell him how all of this makes you feel. I hope he can understand and help you feel better about it. |

It's rainy and gross outside. Maybe we'll just stay in bed all day. |

My stupid coworker came to work sick with the flu - fever, cough, the whole thing last Saturday - even though our employer told her not to show up.
So last night at 3am I came down with the flu (I had a flu shot this year and was hopeful). I called in for tonight because I'm not going to spread it around like she did. |

Idk how supplies of tamiflu are this year, but it might be worth calling your doc. If you take it right when the symptoms start it can lessen the severity and duration. But you have to take it within the first day or two, it's fairly expensive depending on your insurance, and it might not be worth a trip to the doc. It's more important for those at higher risk of complications, like infants and seniors. |

Doing laundry today, made a pot of my lentils, and have brussel sprouts roasting in the oven now. Yum! Happy saturday everyone. Hugs/headnods as appropriate.

Watching my daughter playing football (soccer) today, the opposition coach was horrible! These are 9 and 10 year old girls. When they conceded a goal he shouted aggressively "THAT'S BAD! THAT'S BAD!" and he shouted to one girl "YOU TURNED YOUR BACK ON THE BALL! WHY??" No wonder the girls on the other team looked like they were having much less fun than our girls. I can't believe it's allowed to go on. I can't believe the parents allow it. It's no way to coach children.

I agree - so rude. I told her last week she had no business coming in to work in her condition. Several other employees caught it and we also have at least one immunocompromised employee - she's ok so far thankfully. I'm feeling much better than I did this morning! |
