Hi Community,

This thread is dedicated to the corrupt and unethical members of the healthcare system. I sometimes need to vent my anger when my PTSD gets triggered.

If you need to vent your frustrations about abuse by therapist or healthcare professional, feel free to do it here.

Thanks,
HD7970ghz

To clarify: corrupt and unethical gutter trash refers to the abusive therapists, as is clearly explained in the first post.

Welcome to the thread Unaluna, and thank you for voicing your opinion.

Thanks,

Hi ArtleyWilkins,

Welcome to the thread, and thanks for your opinion.

Abuse in the healthcare system is not exclusive to psychotherapy; it is cultural and systemic and breaches into all fields of healthcare. Remember, a lot of Medical Doctor's become Psychiatrists. That is probably what StopDog is referring to. I also mentioned this thread is for people to vent about abuse by therapists and or members of the healthcare profession.

I hope you have a good day.

Thanks,
HD7970ghz

I feel it fits therapists and psychiatrists as well. I have never been to a psychiatrist as a client - but I do deal with them in court.

Hi Stopdog,

You are right about that Stopdog! I am so thrilled you are a part of this conversation.

I realize these threads are making some members uncomfortable , but people are finding their voices , and there does need to be balance. I've spoken on another thread about having done so well in therapy that I was able see what was happening when someone was corrupt and unethical. So I'd just like to give a to my T and the many ethical and dedicated T's that are out there and not happy that the behaviour of the bad ones is the issue it is.

I LOVE this! Thank you so much. You get it! Everyone deserves a chance to speak up and find a voice, irregardless of their specific experience!

Out There, you are my hero today.

Thanks,

Yes, I think I get this -- even though I am doing so much better from being able to express myself, and get support and feedback, on this forum so that I think I can feel/see what is happening better -- and, very sadly, feel/see how I was not cared about in my FOO. Couldn't be helped, etc., etc., And it's been the topic in various therapies for years. AND I couldn't feel it until I was rejected by my last T, a person with a personality (and issues?) similar to some female relatives and hence I was (uncomfortably?) comfortable/familiar with her.

It blew up and where was I to go? Not another T.

Thankfully, there is peer support -- although I found the IRL peer support for therapy trauma to be very limited.

Peer support is, or can be, an antidote, I have found, for over-depending on or over-idealizing therapists or the therapy process.

Venting anger is a first step -- I'd say a necessary first step -- in doing something else with it. In that state, therapists may seem "worse" than others might see them, "worse" than they may be in any objective, external reality, if there is such a thing.

So, starting from where things seem/feel to me and expanding outward from there. . .
Thanks for this!

I think there are plenty of unethical abusive practices in industries outside of healthcare. The difference is they other industries might not hold your life, your ego, your self esteem etc in the palm of their hands the way therapists and other healthcare providers do.

I agree with this 100%. Therapy is marketed as a safe place.

Thanks,
