Unless your prof was planning on blowing raspberries on your belly... or is that how youre getting into USC?

I think you should go if you feel well.

Can you email them to make suitable alternatives? At my first university I was allowed to take my exams in a smaller group rather than with everyone else. You only need an invigilator.

The last couple times I went I was the only person there. well, the 2nd time one other person came in. anyway it's not in a full classroom, just at the testing center with a proctor watching you.

I added "blowing raspberries on your belly." to the list, but it's not fancy, that's what they called teachers at our high school!

Its a UK term per google. Last night i had some private time with my invigilator. With new batteries, i almost defenestrated myself.

Maybe i could get a job being the person who uses the word in a sentence at spelling bees.

I wonder what the word for that is. Probably invigilator.

Definitely apply! My latin loving gal could teach you all the etymology you would need.

You should try me- I don't need batteries to play and I'd give you something to remember.

If you didnt see it, the guy that died on my soap was good friends with Shemar Moore, who has a few fans on the couch. I thought this was sweet.

The more I share stories of my past in my C=PTSD group, the sadder I become. I can't believe what a toxic hell I grew up in. It's funny because the guy I had coffee with Tuesday asked me quite early on, how I have not gone into any addictions like drinking or drugs. He doesn't even know about the family, but just the "up keep" I have to remain "ok" every day and take care of others.

It kinda rattles me to know all this stuff and it feels so so hopeless to ever fix it. Maybe it isn't fixable at this point

An invigilator just watches you. A proctor, well, they “take care” of you (from procurator).

Ah. So they call ours proctors because they not only watch but they also tell you where to sit, and after you log into the course, you have to wait for them to pull up the exam and type in a separate password for you and stuff.
Thanks for this!

Oh, I was referring to the etymology. I don’t think there’s a real difference in duties.

It’s just another British/American English thing.

Well, keeping a vigil or to be vigilant is to be a watcher. Makes sense.

I always thought of proctor, like of an exam, as protecting the integrity of the process.

England was invaded a lot. Why do we say we eat beef instead of cow?
Old French buef "ox; beef; ox hide" (11c., Modern French boeuf), from Latin bovem (nominative bos, genitive bovis). Original plural in the animal sense was beeves.
Cow - on the other hand -Middle English cu, qu, kowh, from Old English cu "cow," from Proto-Germanic *kwon (source also of Old Frisian ku, Middle Dutch coe, Dutch koe, Old High German kuo, German Kuh, Old Norse kyr, Danish, Swedish ko),
Applied to the females of various large animals from late 14c.

Last night i had a series of dreams or maybe it was one long disjointed dream about letting go of things ropes, bags of groceries, goats always near a cliff or slope i guess i must just be tired of hanging on to therapy. only 26 hours til i find out. I am getting a weary of it and have definitely decided to have an extended break from the whole thing because it sort of overshadowed my life. if i do go back i will change a few things including asking if he will reconsider me writing things down he used to say its called talk therapy for a reason
