As some of you may recall, I saw a T recently who was awful and I was nervous about seeing another T from the same practice. Well, I finally had my appointment with my new T and he's great. He's a terrific fit, he looks like Dr. Drew from love lines, he completely understood all my issues quickly, he listened for the whole picture...It was pretty much perfect.

As for how the thing played out with the first therapist I didn't click with, I never got up the guts to call her. But I asked my new T and he said he'd spoken to her already and everything was fine. Whew, what a relief! Now I don't have to worry about seeing her in the waiting room.

With this new guy I'm actually kind of excited to be back in therapy. I feel something strange...it's almost like...could it be...optimism?

That is so great that you found someone you like so well and that the old T issues are now worked out. That must be a relief. Best wishes with your new T!

Cyran0--that's awesome news. I love Dr. Drew. It's the best thing in the world when you find a therapist you click with. Good for you, man. . .

I don't know about these people who make references I've never heard of :-) Like Dr. Drew. I had to go find him to see what he looked like, never heard of "love lines":

Glad you got someone you appear to hit it off with Cyran0. Did you have a disguise ready in case the first T was still upset with you? :-)

Perna, it didn't have a disguise, no. My plan was to just not make eye contact if I saw her.

Truth is, I had no reason to think she'd be upset by my choice not to see her again. I just felt horribly awkward about it.

It is a good feeling to have clicked with a T. Now I actually have to do the work and try to get better. That part I'm anxious about.

I think what I am hearing is.....Optimism. That seems to run in short supply. I remember the feeling of "clicking" w/somebody and it's great! I'm feeling happy for you!
