Hi all,

Lately I have been hurt by interactions with the mental health community.

There is a policy in healthcare where I live, that whenever you visit an ER or hospital, they are obligated to ask if you are or have experienced domestic abuse of any kind.

When you report someone, they take it seriously.

Why is it that the healthcare system DOES NOTHING when you have experienced abuse in their system?

Oh, but they do indeed do something - only - instead of providing safety for survivors, they protect the perpetrator and blame the victim.

WOW! Character smear campaign 101.

Welcome Institutional Betrayal Trauma.

The psychopaths and wolves in sheeps clothing masquerading behind a public facade of do no harm. They abuse with impunity and no one seems to care.

I am sick and tired of this world. The sickness. The abuse. The abuse of power, the destruction of credibility of whistle-blowers and survivors. The classic smear campaigns.

Makes me sick to my stomach.

I cannot wait for the day when this issue is exposed.

How they've destroyed me. How they've maliciously attacked my character for selfish gain, projected what they are doing onto me. I know their tactics; classic smear campaigns. To claim I cannot empathize with my abusers... That somehow I am in the wrong. Nice try healthcare. I do empathize with you, even the ones who abused me. The problem is, you don't empathize with those you abuse. THAT is why abuse keeps happening. So, before you project your lack of empathy onto me, perhaps you should question why someone would be as passionate as I am, investigating everything about you?

Thanks,
HD7970ghz

They may have attacked your character but do you care what they think at this point? Nor do a bunch of the rest of us on this board.

Claiming you cannot empathize? That is such a JOKE. Look up the origin of the word empathy. It was made up by a psychologist a little more than 100 years ago. Then used by Kohut to say it was something THERAPISTS needed in order to understand their clients. So, now the people in the mental health field see this horrible thing -- lack of "empathy" -- in clients. Projection, like you said. The world did just fine in assessing people's character without that word for centuries. Compassion, now, that's been around for awhile. And kindness. Just not the "empathy" bit.

Also, even if attacked you are definitely not destroyed.
Thanks for this!
