Hi unaluna, the person is a salaried individual who is taking an unpaid leave of absence for three days out of the pay period. I'm looking at labor law on the dol.gov website and you can either use an hourly or daily equivalent of the person's weekly salary or any other amount proportional to the time not worked. But as it turns out, you can do an hourly equivalent and a daily equivalent and the two do not come out the same way. I always error on the side of the employee (whichever way gives them more money) since it is not spelled out in our handbook but there's differing points of view on how to proceed. So it's complicated and I'm getting a headache. Sigh.

I'm back home after having the joy of having my card declined at the store. ( My app didn't show me that I had a pending transaction so I had less money than I thought I did and I didn't actually check it today but did yesterday).

Thankfully I did have enough cash on me.

Moral of the story kids always carry cash.

Or maybe my twin princess? I've watched one too many episodes of that too.

Forget England come visit me in the Highlands. All the Shortbread and Haggis you could ever want.

It does sound complicated, but you're doing your best and knowing how to solve it is half the work.

Second, it is not really a churchy sort of problem to have. Maybe that is me making judgments about myself, but I just don't know if people in my Church would get it. I have one friend from Church who I know would pray for me but she has told me before, she doesn't understand it at all. And he says I hang out too much with the senior adults, because they are safe and I don't have to be too vulnerable with them. I don't know if that is true. It's just that I hang out with my parents and they hang out with the senior crew. I'm going to go to therapy tomorrow night with regular T. I'm pretty stressed about the accountability partner thing. I kind of want to SH over it. Probably not a good thing. HUGS to anyone who wants one, Kit

I'm pretty sure there will be others at the church also struggling with SH .The thing is you could have an accountability partner, but it doesn't have to to be something you need to do right now. If it's stressing you out so much.

It's okay to also hang out with those you feel more comfortable with.

Boss is human and has cried too.

How are you feeling now? Are you still at work or at home?

The next day I took my other cat to the vet for dental work. They did blood work before the dental and decided not to do the dental after all because her kidney function was impaired and she might not survive anesthesia. She's now on a special diet and she could have a year or two left. I think this is a sign that I should stop looking for my lost cat and focus on the one I still have.

I think someone has taken him in, I don't see any sign of him in the neighborhood.

Comments appreciated.

I'm sorry about your missing cat and your sick cat.

I hope he will make his own way home.

I'm okay. Thanks for asking. I also emailed my therapist for reassurance that he was telling me the truth yesterday that I'm not an awful person after I shared something really shameful. I have a deadline at work this week that I'm struggling with so I'm trying to stay focused and nose to the grindstone.

Pdoc is weaning me off this med but hasn't talked about replacing it with anything. Today's appointment was so rushed it was ridiculous.
The feelings I'm having tonight are intense.

I'm sorry you're struggling so much right now.

How gradual is the reductions in your medication and the time frame you're doing it in?

I hope P gets back to you soon.

For now can you write out/remind yourself of the things P has said about yourself.

You're doing your best at work- that's all that matters

I'm glad you had cash! It's always good to have a backup option. I hide twenty bucks in a separate part of my wallet for just such situations.

Ahh, got the pay issue sorted out. Not entirely on my own. I was on the right track but I was stuck on there being 96 hours in this particular pay period--which there is, for hourly employees. What I forgot was that salary employees get paid 86.664 hours per pay period regardless. So once I got that, then the math made sense. Hourly employee's pay is so much easier to figure out when they take a leave of absence, but more of a pain to figure out with OT and DT and stuff like that. But now I am exhausted and I have a headache, and I have to teach tonight. All I want to do is sleep. Plus I am still stressed over my Pastor T appointment last night. All my muscles and my insides feel tight. My shoulder now has cream on it because it was hurting so much, probably from the tension. I need more caffeine. Lots of caffeine. A nap would be better but since I can't nap at work, CAFFEINE!

I think I'll start keeping another small purse too in case I forget my wallet.

When I went on the walking tour back in september, the tour guide actually asked our group of maybe 16 what the word for pushing someone out of a window was.

DEFENESTRATE!

I felt very smartz.
