Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.
Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely. This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means. It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends. We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience. Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread. Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy. 209 is the first composite Kummer number. |

Had pdoc visit today- he had a fit about all the hours I worked and said I'm getting manic. I disagreed and he became visibly frustrated with me. I emailed t about our visit and she took his side. He wants me in bed by midnight every night - I told him that if I'm going to be up anyway I might as well be earning money. He wanted to write a letter to my boss - no way that was happening. I'm a middle-aged woman - I don't need a bedtime or a letter to my boss stating that I can only work my scheduled hours.

@Lemoncake Hugs. Last couch was locked before I could reply, but I want to thank you. For always caring despite your own struggles.
I read the couch but often don't know what to say, so I tend to leave hugs (thanks on the tapatalk app) pages later. A whole lot of baggage around leaving my country really haha. I love my partner and his country but yeah, I basically feel torn. |

I met with my attorney today.
It was productive. I walked away feeling...not good because this whole thing sucks, but solid. It's good to know there's a good attorney who's also a decent person in my corner. I'm paying him a lot of money to be there, but he's a good egg. Still not divorced. But eventually I will be. __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. My sisters attorney is not a good one. He was supposed to send the agreement for my sister to serve that idiot and he never sent it so she called and freaked out on them.
First he told her she would have the agreement before thanksgiving, then she never got it and he told her he would send it the day after thanksgiving. She never got it. Emailed him again and he told her he would send it that Monday. Never got it. That Wednesday never got it. emailed him again and he was supposed to send it Thursday and she never got it. He told her she would have it first thing Friday morning and she never got it. So she called and flipped her lid on him and his paralegal. She told them she understands things happen and that he’s busy but this is unacceptable. The lawyer then told her he’s working it at home this weekend and she will have it Sunday night. She told him if it’s not in her email Sunday night he’s fired. I knew she picked the wrong lawyer when I met the guy back in September. |

Ugh. Jersey, I am so sorry. Hugs, for you and your sis and that sweet baby.
If she does end up firing him, or just deciding not to work with him even if he does come through...one of the best things I did was meet with more than one attorney and then choose the one that seems like the best fit. Sometimes that means paying for a very expensive half-hour or hour of their time to consult with them, but in the long run it can pay off. I got valuable information from each of the attorneys I met with, and it was interesting to see where they converged and where they didn't. __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. I got transferred to a psych hospital but apparently my insurance doesn't want to pay for it. So now they have to call 2 other places and hope they don't have any beds. I hate this so much.

Well, I'm not going to visit my parents after all (details in other thread, tl;dr my mom has pneumonia and doesn't want me catching it).
Now I have to figure out what to do on this week off--obviously I was planning to be out of town so I didn't make any plans. I don't do well with too much unstructured time, so I'm going to have to find some things to do. I might go skiing, maybe even spend a night on the mountain. I'd have to go by myself but why the heck not? |

Hugs, SheHulk. I'm sorry you're feeling so awful. I agree with Chihiro, that they shouldn't have just left you in a room without someone checking on your frequently if you're on a psych hold. And it sucks that your insurance isn't willing to pay. Is there any way to get your T involved to talk to them? (Them being insurance co., but also maybe the psych hospital). You deserve better than the help you're getting.

Okay, I've made plans to go skiing later this week so that takes care of a few days (I'm going to stay in an AirBnB for two nights by myself). And today I'm going to a book sale and having lunch with a friend.
My best friend locally (we met when we were both inpatient almost two years ago) isn't doing so well. I'm not sure what happened but she said she's just feeling really awful. I'm starting to get really worried about her. She texted me back on Thanksgiving and she lives with her fiancé so she can't be too bad off... but I miss her and I'm worried about her. I've been texting her gifs every day of silly things or hugs; trying to let her have space if she wants it but letting her know I'm here if she needs anything. |
