What is the longest email you would send to a T? Thanks.

Also, would anyone be willing to read an email I’m thinking of sending to my T? I want to send it because it lays out my feelings but am so scared she’ll get angry with me.

I sent some two pagers to my first T but I hated her. Current T I try to keep it short as he is a slow reader but I think some have been close to a page long. Mostly now I try to do it more like a list or thoughts. He doesn’t mind incomplete sentences or bad grammar if it makes it shorter LOL.

If it's more than 2 paragraphs, I make sure that T knows it is ok to just read it in my session. I don't write them for a reply though, I write more just to get things off my chest and have a starting off point for my next appointment.

I try not to write too much to my T, maybe a couple of paragraphs at most.

I'd be up for reading your e-mail, goatee.

That being said, if I had something important to say to her that I couldn't verbalize, I'd probably write a long e-mail to her, while apologizing profusely at the beginning

With T I had to limit my emails. With L, I don't. Though I still review it and try to shrink it down as much as possible. Now T will only do short replies, where L tends to reply to everything.

I'm of the belief that email is meant for mostly pretty concise and purposeful communication. I honestly will only skim through an excessively long email. Oftentimes the formatting is irregular because emails sometimes just do that, so reading a long email can be a bit difficult.

If I need to send something of length, particularly something that is really its own text (i.e. a journal entry, a reflection, a piece of creative writing, etc.), I write that document in a Word or Google Doc and attach the file to the email. Then, the email is simply an explanation about what the attached file contains and what I am requesting the receiver to do in regards to that document.

I'm happy to read it if you still need someone Goatee.

I don't email my current T as I can text but I did my previous two. I kept them to a couple of paragraphs or so and if I needed to explain something in depth I would type out a letter and bring it to the session.

Emdr T doesnt do emails but with T, I sent her a few 2 pagers. It was when I was struggling over a specific topic and I couldn't get my brain to shut down. So O sent her an email just to get it out of my head. I knew in those cases she would print it out so she could read them easier and or would take done time for a reply.

I wrote some serious novels to ex-T and ex-MC. If I copied/pasted into Word, I think a few would be 3 pages or more (single-spaced). I've learned to be much more succinct with Dr. T, usually limiting it to a few paragraphs, sometimes just a few sentences. Though I have sent him a few longer ones.

Feel free to send it to me.

Current T doesn't do emails. But with Former T I would email her quite often as she encouraged it. Anywhere from a couple of sentences to a couple of pages depending. Usually I'd say they were a paragraph or two. The longer ones usually had to deal with me trying to work through something from a session. The shortest ones were usually when I was in a crisis. When I was in a crisis I got right to the point. HUGS Kit

I just sent a rather lengthy message to my GP. I feel it was necessary though to give him a heads up about some things because my husband also joins me for my appointments. (I mean, i can ask him to leave or the doctor sometimes does, but I do actually prefer to have a second pair of ears with most things. Just saying)
But yeah, I had a tendency to typically write really long letters, but found that it's not really typically appropriate in professional correspondence. I've been working on this, but as I said above, there will obviously be exceptions to the rule.

"post QUICK reply" lol
