Again with the disillusionment. This is two nights in a row.

Altho i did like Rowan when he played Poirot.

We are having thundering and lightning here. Thunder woke me up last night. It was scary and lonely feeling.

Hey, don't want to retype everything I wrote over at the Dear T thread so here it is: https://psychcentralforums.com/psych...st6805568.html

What a miserable week. It stinks that I can't do online therapy safely in my room or anywhere in the entire bleeping flat. Or outdoors. And abusive sibling can just go bleep himself because he's refusing to answer if he had contact with his boss whose quarantined.

I keep having nightmares that I am in high school and about to graduate but I’m missing a class or have failed several classes (it’s usually something like PE or Art, sometimes English) and can’t graduate and/or have ruined my academic record forever. I wake up confused and have a hard time convincing myself that everything’s OK, that I definitely finished high school and even medical school. I’m not totally sure what about the current situation is bringing up this particular flavor of anxiety dream – maybe the fact that I’m going to have to work in the ICU more, which I hate and always find frightening and feel like I am never fully prepared for?

In better news, I slept for 8 hours last night! It was interrupted and there was a nightmare but still! (I’ve been so stressed and anxious lately that I haven’t been managing more than five or so.)

I have a similar recurring dream, either about high school or college, where I realize I've forgotten to attend a class all semester. Or I'm in a confusing building and can't find the classroom. Or it's first day, and I can't find my schedule and have no idea where I'm supposed to be. And I graduated high school, ugh, 25 years ago and college 4 years after, though I guess I did do grad school 5 years ago. But I had those dreams in between college and grad school as well. I've read that they're fairly classic and common anxiety dreams. I imagine they're connected to the ICU service, like you said, or maybe just Covid in general.

Glad you got some sleep last night!

Hugs. I can't imagine the tremendous anxiety you must be dealing with. If I could transfer you my ability to lucid dream, I would, so you could summon magical help in those dreams.

It makes sense you feel you're failing something major in these nightmares. You're doing your very best and I am sending you all my good luck Couch 213: The Tulip couchCouch 213: The Tulip couch

Hugs gratefully accepted! T agreed with me that if abusive sib won't say if he's had close contact with his quarantined boss, we'll postpone our sessions. I told her online therapy is not workable as much as I'd love it to be.

Right now what I know is abusive sib was part of a group his boss was speaking too. Don't know anything else. All I know is IF his boss shows symptoms, THEN his boss will be tested for covid-19. They won't test if he shows no symptoms. And what concerns me is if he turns out to be an asymptomatic carrier.

I'm thinking of just postponing even though I really bleeping could use a therapy session. Abusive sib literally doesn't bleeping care. I get why he's refusing to answer basic questions because that's his way of riling up our abusive parents but I feel it's incredibly selfish. He said at most he himself gets quarantined. Like it won't impact everyone in this flat.

It's hard to tell if you actually believe that ALL therapists are scoundrels or it's just something you enjoy going on about. It can be really disheartening to someone in one of those life or death situations to hear that their therapist and all therapists are in it just for the money. Are they all good people? Hell no and we shouldn't stop calling the bad ones out. But they're not all bad people either. I don't know what the point is in constantly saying that all of them are bad.
I think both of my therapists are generally good people. They have helped me a lot, and together they fill in the gaps that the other has. I understand how they apply their training in our sessions. It's a pretty good situation for me in general, even when the sessions are tough. I am okay with SD not understanding or agreeing. I am guessing it is not the only place where SD and I disagree. It is fine for me to invest in something that she thinks is bullshirt.

I have been having dreams about being back in high school and being late for class all the time lately too. Must be the heightened global anxiety. Although in last night's dream I was late for geometry because I was playing with this awesome puzzle thing that shot out pencils. Probably worth being tardy.

I can always remember my locker combination in these dreams, though. I have no idea what that's about.

I saw an article yesterday, which I now can’t find, that a lot of people are reporting more numerous and more vivid dreams under the pandemic. Likely because we’re all under stress from the situation to some degree.

last week I texted t and said I was cancelling appointments going forward. She thought I was terminating and asked that we please have a call with no cost to me she just wanted to clarify things. I set her straight but kinda love that she isnt just the type to ditch.

Cancelled with EMDR T for the next few weeks. it's too hard to work on health OCD when the whole world HAS to engage in that behaviour right now.

I'm T less for a few weeks and I like it.

Also had my super immune system depleting therapy so I'm in the house now until May lol

That makes a lot of sense. The other night, I had one where it was so windy, it was making the (full) moon blow back and forth. Which of course couldn't happen, but it was a fascinating image. Also had a therapy dream...

It was super windy here all night. I had to get up and check my fence before I let the dogs out to make sure nothing had knocked out a piece of it (it has happened in the past). This was not a dream

I had a nightmare last night and screamed but didn't wake myself up so h woke me up. In the dream my son was a baby again and we were in a parking garage at a mall or something and he was in the back of the car (a station wagon, with the back window rolled down) and I was standing outside the car,

I get recurring nightmares but I haven't had any recently. I haven't had any dreams that I can remember either.

I have nightmare disorder anyway, so I’m used to nightmares, but the kind of dreams I’ve been having the past couple weeks are about people I know, and I rarely dream about people I know.

I put these small fleece blankets with pouches in the cage with my guinea pigs yesterday. The one, Amelia, keeps burrowing under it and sort of wrapping herself in it so you can just see her nose sticking out. It's too cute.
