Thank you so much for mentioning that. I was needing Seventh Generation tp, & was able to order some.

I can't seem to get my preferred brand of toilet paper, but my sister has found some. So I buy hers and she buys mine, and we trade

The toilet paper I'm stuck with is basically tissue paper on a roll. It's horrible.

Lmao who the heck does he think he is? You are an adult. He isn't going to pay your rent, so he gets no say in any living arrangements you make. Controlling sounds like an understatement.

Found out yesterday that my grandfather has congestive heart failure. He was having shortness of breath, so went and got a COVID test, which was negative. But apparently there's fluid around his heart and he has congestive heart failure. I've been dreading something like this. I have three remaining grandparents, and I know I'm really lucky - but they are all in their late 80s at this point. My other grandfather died more than 10 years ago. This has still come as somewhat of a shock, though. He has always been healthy and is still pretty active. He really doesn't appear to be his age. So I wasn't expecting that he would seemingly suddenly have heart failure - none of us were.

And the timing of this just makes things worse. It's concerning to have him in the hospital right now what with COVID. It would probably be fatal if he got it right now. And nobody can go to the hospital and see him.

There's a place where we do carryout that gives a free roll of toilet paper with each order.

I really sort of hate therapy right now. Not so much actual therapy as the confines of the therapeutic relationship. When my T says the reason he didn't reply to my email yet is that he "had to take a break from my practice." Which I understand and appreciate in one sense, but in another, I hate being part of something that one needs a break from. Couldn't he have just said he was really busy today, rather than saying he needed a break? It just makes me feel like a burden...

ETA: Yes, I know, everyone deserves a break, teachers need breaks from their students but it doesn't mean they don't care, etc. It's more: don't tell me that, T, deal with it on your own time, come up with something else to tell me/your other clients...

Sorry, LT — I can understand why that didn’t feel good.

Did he end up addressing your “clinical relevance” concern or was it more of a “let’s talk later” email?
Thanks for this!

Thanks, it helps to know that you understand. It was a "hope you're OK waiting to talk about this Monday" email. He does see clients on Sundays, so I asked if he had any openings tomorrow, but he said he didn't. In saying that, he did add " I understand that you are upset, and from what you have shared I can appreciate why. Hopefully you will not feel too anxious waiting until our Monday session." Which helped a bit.

Though I guess now I'm concerned that he could be in some sort of therapist burnout place...

I worry that all our therapists are in burnout place. Especially when I want to cling to mine like a life raft and I want to support him at the same time.

Augh I’m developing a sore throat. Hopefully it’s just allergies, but I bet Occ Health will want to put the stupid swab up my nose again.

I worry about this, too. Mine has talked about how I don't have many of my usual coping methods available to me now. But I know he doesn't have some of his activities available to him now either (like the sport he plays), which I imagine is the case for most T's. Plus their clients are likely talking about the pandemic much of the time, so they can't escape thinking about that. And they're either stuck at home with their partner and/or kids or they're at home alone, likely feeling isolated.

And I feel similarly in wanting to cling to my T and also support him.
Thanks for this!
