Welcome to the couch, old and new! A place to hang out - sometimes you get immediate feedback, sometimes you don't.

Shouting, "Cool Whip" tends to bring others out from between the cushions if you're feeling lonely.

This is a chatty thread. All are welcome. We're kind of psychologically oriented, sometimes. We try to be supportive. At times we discuss what that means.

It’s a place to plop down on the couch when you come home from work or wherever, or wake up in the middle of the night, or check in at lunch, rant a bit or not, and be among friends.

We advise you not to drink or drug and text your therapist ("T") - we speak from experience.

Sometimes the thread moves fast and you might get overlooked; sometimes it moves slowly and all you hear are crickets. Sometimes you get hugged or thanked pages later. So if it's a bigger question, you might want to start a new thread.

Grab a cushion, a spot on the floor, or an armchair in the corner and make yourselves comfy.

In honor of Chihirochild and all her hard work .

Thanks for the new Couch, Lemon.

Nice touch to name it after Chihiro, and a great place to rest for a while.
Even though all I seem to be doing at the moment is resting, I never feel rested.

That's really pretty! Nice that your sons are painting as well. I did a painting through a Paint Nite thing (Yaymaker) last night, too. It's neat because now you can do virtual Paint Nites that are happening all over the country and Canada. Just need to pay attention to the time zone when you book it. I'm on the East Coast and mine was being done in New Mexico--worked out well because it started at 7 their time, but 9 my time, so after D had gone to bed. May share later.

I dreamt that I saw a girl i knew from primary school sitting on the floor crying, but I tell her that I wouldn't come to her even if she was crying.

Feel like that says a lot with what I want from therapy. Comfort when I'm crying and this has been bugging me for the past two sessions, especially if it's at the end Can .i not get an extra 10 seconds before he hangs up on the dot without me even saying bye.

I had a dream that I was out someplace doing work, then found out I'd won free clothing at a store. So I went in there, and in the process, somehow misplaced my laptop, purse, and shoes. I was wandering around a sketchy part of a city near me trying to get them back and woke up in a bit of a panic.

My take- clothes are coverings, losing them leaves you more vulnerable. Maybe you feel more exposed in daily life?

I have a sourdough mother. It is sort of like having a pet if you think of goldfish as pets. You have to feed it, you can stare at it -but it doesn't really respond and you can't pet it, but it will die if neglected

There's one around me that's offering select ones for free but I couldn't get the video to work. Others are doing $10 videos or $25 for a video plus a painting kit. I might try one of those next since I ran out of white paint and it'd be a good way to support a small business.

The ones I'm doing are mostly $15, with a few $10 ones. There's a place where you can order a kit if you need one, too. I may need to order more white soon myself!

Had a nice silly moment with Dr. T today Right near the end of (video) session, he made this weird maneuver, like leaning over and shifting his body back and forth. I was like, “What was that?” He demonstrated it and asked if it’s what I meant. I said yeah. He said he had a thing on his seat for his back and that it had shifted.I said I thought maybe it was part of our new goodbye ritual. He was like, “This is your 3-minute warning” and did this goofy little chair dance thing. I sort of did it back. Was a nice goofy little moment. The sort of thing I feel had been missing from our therapy lately. Made me feel more connected.

I was joking with Liz the other day about how we were over time so I would need to end the session if she didn't. Then I leaned forward (actually just zoomed my face right up against the camera) and asked if she "had any final thoughts," which is what she often asks me lately.

I asked her to let me leave first too, which I liked much better than getting the "the host has ended the session" message.

That's pretty funny!

I also like leaving first and requested it last session. Right after our session ended today, Dr. T texted to say he forgot to let me end the session first and was sorry. I said "No problem," that I'd managed to get out right before he ended it, and he replied "Good!"

I had one. The day I got it (it was a present), it went off during class because it was hungry and all the other students were laughing. The instructor was in full flow and didn’t notice it. I didn’t either until another student passed me a note.

After that I let it die.
