I like weight training but have to be careful of a bad wrist and a bad elbow - so I just use lighter weights and space out the days I do it and do short stints rather than an hour or something. Peloton has a lot of choices of time, type, etc. It even has yoga and meditation. I like it for weights because they mix stuff up more than I would do on my own. When my person was alive, we used to do weight stuff with a pbs show and my person was so weak she started off using 8 oz little cans of v8 juice and worked up to 2 lb weights. And this was way before cancer.
The reason I keep mentioning this is it might help reduce stress and they are upbeat and encouraging etc (not my thing but it really sounds right up your alley) - you can adjust anything to your level and they have many coaches to try until you find the ones you like.

I looked but it wanted a credit card for the trial, I think I am going to do the trial anyway. Thanks for reminding me to get on that!

Oh - sorry I was wrong about the cc - that is new or maybe I was on some special offer thing and don't remember. And I see they have gone back to 30 days (my sibling after using mine and liking it- managed to get the 90 day free trial they had late spring and he and his children used it)

This was what we used

Ah, OK. Yeah, that would add stress. We've thought about doing the same, buying and putting our house up as rental--we'd likely bring in considerably more than our mortgage, so could cover other costs. But we're also happy with my D's school (of course, will be virtual through January, so...). Would be nice to have a single-family home and regular backyard (we have a ground-floor deck). But I've read prices are elevated right now with the low interest rates. So...staying put.

Today, in NYT crossword news, I only knew one answer because it's Dr. T's father's name, and I'd looked up what it meant in the past (fairly unusual Old Testament biblical name).

Still furloughing 16 hours a week. This is getting old. We haven't heard anything yet from unemployment. That sucks. I had to take a little out of savings this week but it's because I had to get new glasses. I got an exam for $75, then I had $95 in gift cards for Target so I ended up paying $154 or $159 something like that. Then I ordered a back up pair of glasses from Warby Parker online for $95. Yeah! New glasses! I'm excited about the Target ones. Less so about the Warby Parker ones. The glasses are cheap but they don't have the biggest selection IMHO. Plus it helps I just have a single script no bifocals or anything like that. My current glasses are black on the outside and pink on the inside. My current back up glasses are tortoiseshell. My new Target glasses will be black on the outside and teal on the inside--but they said it could take up to 4 weeks to get those in. They are blaming it on Corona Virus. Yeah right. And then my backup glasses which will be the Warby Parker ones are called Welty. They are light light pink, almost translucent. So excited for new glasses but so unexcited about the wait!

hi LT I'm here...

i took a couple days off work to go through some stuff in the house and now to work on the yard I was out there for a couple hours this morning early (before it got too hot) our HOA sent a nasty gram about "tree debris" we have mesquite trees in our yard and they have been dropping their pods everywhere and I hadn't picked them up yet and there's a lot of tiny-leaf type debris that we never worried about, but apparently now they are worried about that too so i raked together a big pile and filled 3 trash bags with said offensive 'tree debris' .

We thought we were gonna have to take diabetic cat to the vet today, he had something wierd between his toes on one paw I had no idea what it was I only caught a quick glimpse of it one time he wouldn't let us touch his paw, i was afraid it was a growth or something. anyway last night he was sleeping and h held him and i was able to look closer, it appeared to be a rock somehow wedged in there, I was able to pull it out and he started walking much better after i got it out so we canceled the vet appt. before that he had been taking a few steps then sitting down, taking a few steps then sitting down, etc until he got somewhere. now it appears that he just walks the full distance he's going. still slower than when he was younger, but he's not stopping every couple of steps anymore. poor kitty, i feel so bad for him.
eta thankfully he doesn't appear to be suffering as badly as he was before we found out he was diabetic, like that one day when he walked around just crying pitifully and went outside and laid in the rain right before we took him in and found out about the diabetic thing. he's not crying at all, just was having such trouble walking for a couple days til i found the rock last night.

If it's any consolation, Kit, I've found that the sessions where I don't know what I'm going to talk about often seem to be the ones where I make the most progress. Alright, since teletherapy, they've also involved a lot more crying....but maybe this is what 'becoming real' is, in a Velveteen Rabbit sense?

Thanks Lost! I sort of have a vague sense but it hasn't fully formed in my head. It was easier when I was going from crisis to crisis because there was always something to talk about but now being more stable and healthier (which is a good thing) sometimes I'm not entirely sure what I should be talking about. I think I have an idea that I need to talk about some hurt feelings that are leftover from my hospitalization in January but nothing is settled in my head as to yes that is what I need to address. Also some interesting things have come up for me from a religious class I am teaching and since my T is relatively the same religion as me, we talk about religion and I think there's a vague wisp of something there that hasn't formed yet either. I still have a day for some thoughts to develop but if they don't, I'm sure we will still have a productive session. T usually brings stuff up that I hadn't thought about. Thanks again, Lost!

I'm here. Thought about posting earlier, but didn't want to bother everyone with my pity party.

Feeling much anxiety over my work situation. I'm fairly certain I'm going to do the short-term disability leave and I'm feeling very overwhelmed with this course of action.
Possible trigger:
I'll need to talk to my manager today about this. I think we're going to role play that talk in session today.

Don't you just love HOA's. I hate mine with a passion. If I ever buy another house, it won't be in a HOA.

I always dread shopping for new eyeglass frames. It's this over and over: find a frame, take glasses off, put frame on, take frame off, put glasses on, look for new frame. I'm also very nearsighted, like the big E is just barely recognizable, so I have to get like 3 inches from the mirror just to see how they look.

NP - there are online shops now where you can try them on virtually. Or you could take selfies while you are trying them on. I dread this too. I tend to wear my glasses and my cars for 100,000 miles plus!

Eta - took a shower, waiting for my meds delivery, oops gotta visit the store to get change for the tip!

Eta - nice new owners! They have frozen broccoli, deli turkey, baklava - so THAT is fantastic! I didnt see the ice cream freezer. I KNOW!!! What kind of reconnaissance is that?!

Good news! I haven't had a single tic all day. It must have just been some weird neurological *thing*. I have those every once in a while. I'm still going to taper off the Abilify because now I'm scared of developing tardive dyskinesia.

(Secretly I'm also terrified about it being a weird neurological thing but I'm trying to be glad that it's over and not worry too much right now. But I had a series of odd neurological things when I was sixteen and seventeen that finally stopped when I had a stroke, so I have a right to worry a little bit.)

But good news!

My 2 vacation days have been more stressful than working, between trying to make my front yard pristine and dealing with this financial stuff!! Crimeny. I'm almost comical the way I get so stressed out about stuff. I look at a couple of my friends just absolutely marveling at them - they both just sold their houses and are full-time RV'ers. Well, my one friend and her husband are already in their RV, the other couple just barely sold their house and bought their RV and are still packing and moving. I don't know that I could EVER do that.

well that was nice. L texted me this morning early and said she had an opening this afternoon, and then texted again at 11 when I didn't respond, and then she even called and left a message around noonish cuz I still hadn't responded (and I always do). Oops. I forgot to turn my phone on today after it died last night and I charged it. Didn't see her texts or voicemail until late this afternoon because I was busy being stressed out all day.... that'll teach me to forget about my phone.
