Hopefully—who knows how the meds screwed everything up.

I am waiting to get a COVID antibodies test. Not that I really think I’ve had it, but a couple weeks ago it looked like I might need to travel, so I scheduled one for peace of mind. Even when possible travel was postponed I kept the appointment.

I did have a 48-hour-plus thing in March, with sore throat, headache, weakness, fatigue, and a strange feeling that my lungs were hard lumps in my chest. I just put it down to stress and allergies at the time.

No. It's just that we had a really long therapy relationship, so over that decade we did become pretty fond of each other and have transitioned into a distant friendship. It's just funny how we can still communicate worlds of information very clearly via messages in very few words full of metaphor. LOL!

I needed that glass of water too and didn't even realize how important it was in some weird symbolic way until that last in-person session I went to when she didn't have the water out waiting for me (because of covid).

Lemon, I agree with SD that your therapist has always seemed like a bit of a jerk. I'm not saying you haven't improved during the time you've been seeing him (I'm sure you have), but I've sometimes really disapproved of things he's said to you and the way he's responded to you when you are struggling and/or "acting out."

I kind of wonder if his behavior reinforces some belief you may have that it's acceptable for you to be treated poorly. And that you should be ashamed of yourself.

Anyway, I hope you can manage to believe that the way he's responding is about him and he doesn't have a monopoly on proclaiming anything or defining you. I know that's kind of vague, but hopefully you get the gist of what I'm trying to say. And as SD often reminds people, therapists are no better than anyone else. They don't have special powers that make their opinions superior to their clients' perspectives.

I have my Spanish oral final exam tomorrow and I'm so nervous! The one for Spanish 101 last month went really well and I got a 97 (ha, hopefully that showed the professor who thought I was cheating that I actually did know the material really well!). However, Spanish 102 is much more difficult - we only dealt with the present tense in 101 and 102 has added the preterite and imperfect tenses. For some reason, I've really had trouble distinguishing when to use the preterite and when to use the imperfect. I've practice a lot but I'm still hitting a max of 80% on the practice questions.

The tenses were what really confused me in Spanish (middle and high school, plus one semester in college). I think they have tenses that don't exist in English.

I'm watching, and it's weird without any fans, with the masks, and other stuff. I joined a free fantasy baseball league through ESPN this morning, as I have my doubts that the football one will happen. I had no idea what I was doing in the draft (though I got the #1 pick in Mike Trout because I had first pick), and there are just so many players compared to football! But I figure it will give me an incentive to watch (as my home team is...terrible).

I would have given you draft advice, gratis.

(There are about four guys who could all be a legit #1 pick, and Trout is one of them, so you did good, kid.)

I can't wait to see a Cy Young Award winner with only 5 wins.

So basically, emojis?

Thats me at the 7th inning stretch!

Okay, big news! I made fudge for the first time. Or frosting. Or ganache. Or gone-chocolate! During a search of the amazon jungle, i came across teeny tiny cans of sweetened condensed milk, like 3 oz. I heated one up and poured in a tiny dixie cup of unsweetened chocolate chips (like 99% cacao - yeah the hard stuff), stirred it up, poured it out, and et it. walnuts next time! But omg, not anytime soon!

Fox Sports had the fake crowd noise when they aired matches from the MLS tournament going on right now. It was terrible. You could barely hear the commentators over it. Luckily ESPN is not going that route.

Hi couch, I'm home from my trip. Just got home on Wednesday. I actually had a really great time with my cousin even though we spent the time hanging out at her house just talking. I felt safe and understood there. I really didn't want to leave and come home. Talked to trauma T today and had to abruptly end because my father interrupted the space I was using to do my session. I talk to T1 tomorrow which should be interesting because I haven't spoke to him since before the 4th of July. Maybe i should warn him.to buckle up for my session.
