Ok... looking for thoughts... most on here know about T1 and I. We’ve been working together for a little over a year and overall have a good working relationship. This past week I asked about seeing another T (T2) in the same building on alternating weeks from T1. T1 suggested a strong female mentor would be helpful to me and working with both T1 and T2 was my way of having that female influence. T2 and I have set an appointment for the beginning of next month. T2 offered an appointment for 1:30 on a Monday which I agreed to. My standing appointment with T1 is Monday at 1. So... my question... I know that T1 will still have my 1:00 open for that week. Should I ask about meeting with T1 at 1 then having T2 join us from 1:30-2:00 and then have from 2:00-2:30 alone with T2. I would have some time with T1 to check in and discuss and worries. Then all three of us could discuss our expectations. Then I could meet alone with T2 for the last 30min of my session with her. Obviously they would have to agree but I think it would set the tone for open communication.
I am very comfortable with T1, T1 and T2 are comfortable together and I think I would be more relaxed initially with T2. Oddly I feel comfortable with her as part of the team but am starting to feel really scared of doing therapy one-on-one with her (which I believe is irrational as I have always had a good impression of her until the appointment was set). __________________ There’s been many a crooked path that has landed me here Tired, broken and wearing rags Wild eyed with fear -Blackmoores Night |
