Ok, so today I was at a meeting about growth in my community and there was a woman there that I hit it off with well from the start. As the meeting wore on we discovered that we made a good team and informally agreed to work together in this project. She wanted to get together again next Monday but I said I couldn’t I meet with T that day (didn’t use T’s name) and that I would be on the other side of town. She said she used to work with a T over there on X street... his is the only building on that street that offers therapy and there are only two male T’s in the building. The other T specializes in a group of clients she doesn’t really fit into but it is remotely possible.
Has anyone else every known or been friends with someone who had worked with their T in the past? Her tone of voice seemed kind of positive about the experience.

No, not that I know of anyway. Although I have referred people to L, I have no idea if they actually contacted her or not as I would never ask and they never said. I don't really think I would want to know.

I referred one of my (not super close) friends to my T, and we are both currently seeing her.

Officially, no but based on what friends have said I highly suspect they also saw long term to at the hospital she worked in (she worked at a hospital as well as in a private practice). After her passing I found out a a good friend had also seen her at the same time I was. Looking back to thing Y had said it made total sense.

I was referred to my current T by a work colleague and friend. She assured me that she didn't need T's services anymore, so I felt okay taking the referral. It doesn't feel weird to me but we're in one of the "helping professions" so being in therapy isn't frowned upon at all.

I vaguely know a woman who sees the same T I do. A while back I mentioned that I worry the T will retire before too long. Well, this person went and told the T what I said My T told me straight out, and assured me that she's not retiring any time soon. I was embarrassed, though, and believe me, I won't be confiding in that woman again.
