Am I bad for waiting until Election Day? I can’t be bothered to figure out where early voting takes place.

It’s as old as universities, so 12th century. Early universities were founded by clergy, and they wore hoods and gowns. And there’s all kinds of semi-secret meanings in it—like the shape of a sleeve can tell you master or doctor.

As for what we wear underneath...I’ll never tell!

When I graduated high school, all the girls had to wear white robes while the boys wore a dark color. I never understood the need to segregrate us based on gender.

I went to public school, we all wore a dark color. But the catholic school girls, whether co-ed or girls only schools, wore white. Probably to prove they were still pure and innocent. /s

I guess I ate gluten accidentally, because dinner just came back up on me.

I feel like crap.

I was wondering if "purity" had something to do with it. If I recall, we even had to wear a white dress under our gowns. This was Tennessee in the very late 80's, but a quick google search indicates this still might be a thing. In 2020, SMH. I can definitively state that I was not "pure" by their definition when I graduated high school no matter what color dress/gown I wore.

It must suck to have problems with something that's so ubiquitous. I'm sorry you have to deal with that @@.

Ive gotten hooked on watching Kitchen Nightmares every night. 2 episodes in a row. Its very emotional, the kitchens and food are disgusting, and then everything gets cleaned up, people start acting right, and then everybody is happy. Then they check back 4 months later and see if the changes stuck.

Its like therapy.

Working on getting myself up to go for a run but my bed is just so cozy...

Sent T an email last night about the longing I have for him to take care of me. I hate that longing so much—it feels pathetic to want that from a therapist (even though I *know* it is super common and would never judge anyone else for feeling that way) and it really hurts to so desperately want something I can never have. It feels like a primal need transferred on to him, something about my mom, maybe. But regardless of the etiology, it feels deep and scary and the hope of having it fulfilled is so enticing, feels like it’d fix everything that was ever wrong with me.

He won’t ever fulfill it, I know that. But I don’t know what to do with the enormous craggy pile of feelings.

It's not bad--I would just worry about really long lines.

I went to a public high school and graduated in the mid-'90s--same with us, with girls wearing white and guys black. Now I'm trying to remember what color I wore in college...I have more pics from high school graduation, so they stand out more in my mind.

But maybe they won't be very long because of the record-setting early voting and absentee voting? I guess it just depends on the number of polls in your area.

Around here mail-in and early voting are both popular, even before this year, so I’ve never seen a long line at my polling place even on Election Day.

I’ve been getting annoying texts from a state candidate’s campaign at least once a day. I don’t know why because this isn’t the party I’m registered with and I’ve never given any politician a donation so they didn’t get my name from a list. Finally a couple days ago I texted back “Please take me off your ****ing text list. Thank you.” And it worked.
