for the couch cooks: i bought a glass bottle of olive oil recently and i cannot for the life of me get it open. the cap just spins and spins and I don't know how to break what looks like a thing that should come off first. if that makes any sense. Anyone know the secret?

Oh, hey, does anyone know how to replace a shower head? Ours is abysmal and I ordered a new one off of Amazon... and I can't get the old one off. There's a part I unscrew, and then a part that just seems to go round and round??

I read that potatoes have so many nutrients that, under different circumstances, they might be considered as falling into the superfood category like goji berries or chia seeds. However, we don't categorise them as remarkable because they are not exotic or interesting enough. And so ends the metaphor of comrademoomoo as potato.

I am mrs fixit!

Artie, its like a milk bottle. Are there perforations? Get in there with a butter knife to break them apart. OR, post a picture. Sometimes its a weird top.

Chiro - pardon the simile, but its like a boy part. You have to unscrew the part UNDER it. I will look for a pic.

Wow, I never tried *un*screwing with a boy part.

Maybe that would have saved my marriages.

My mother would always heat the top of the jar on a gas stove for things that wouldn't open.

Insomnia, thou sucketh.

I've been awake for about 3 hours, laid there with my eyes closed trying to do some dream work stuff since I couldn't sleep, finally got up and am now cooking the steaks h bought the other day. I have to log onto work and start taking calls in a little over an hour. Ugh.

...although maybe I slept for a short spell there because I do remember a bit of a dream that had nothing to do with what I was intentionally working on. In the dream snippet I'd been waiting for a flight and then find out I missed it, and that there were tornadoes headed for the flight path, and I was glad I hadn't gotten on the plane but worried about the passengers who did. 2 of my friends A and K were at the airport and we made up after having had a fight and I was hugging them and then trying to figure out where I was going to sleep until I could catch the next flight.

A side benefit of not being able to sleep, steak and eggs for breakfast. (No, I'm not vegetarian yet. I'm a mostly-vegetarian-but-sometimes-I-eat-meat-atarian. heh!)
eta: a nice quiet breakfast all to myself, to boot. I'm amazed that h didn't smell the steaks cooking and come out sniffing haha!

I had a good T appointment on Saturday. I'll have to write it up in IST. I haven't done that in a while. I was able to make some connections about some fears I have and how that might have precipitated the hallucinations. I feel less crazy now.
