Sometime in the fall the dining halls and other eating optiins at my school implemented a robot food delivery service. I saw my first one today.

It’s just a box on wheels, but the way it was so businesslike and efficient was just.so.frigging.cute.

I had called her a few weeks ago asking if she could help return his belongings to him. She apparently spoke with him and was getting back to me. I asked if he was getting alcohol and DV treatment and she said he would be, that she was the DV PO and that's why he was assigned to her. Then she told me that when he got out of prison he was really unstable and that he had a whole team of people he was working with. That was too much to hear. And where the f*** was the team of people helping me when he did what he did?

I thought of you saturday night. Father Browns murder mysteries. The murder victim told the prime suspect he didnt like him because he practiced campanology - latin main word plus greek suffix.

Ugh, that sounds really triggering. That people were there helping him but not you... Is tomorrow a day that you see your T?

The sad truth is, that is the situation most abused women find themselves in. Sometimes they can get that support if they leave, but often not. Criminals get that attention because they’ve come to the attention of the state.

It happens on other levels too. Have a couple DUIs you might get ordered into rehab. Be an alcoholic quietly and you won’t.

That said...I would still prefer not to get that attention if it also meant being a convicted criminal with the state’s eye on me.

On twitter the other day someone asked what caledonophilia meant and I was like nothing, that can’t be a word because of the Latin/Greek rule.

Or Scotch. SD would be a caledonophile.

For what it is worth, there are plenty of people ordered into treatment after being picked up for alcohol poisoning or drug overdose who do not get arrested but get placed on civil holds and ordered into treatment - they do not want it. At all. I had countless clients say they just went through the motions until they got let out. So it is usually viewed as punishment or ridiculous or both by the recipients of such state beneficence

I had a single DUI and had to go to alcohol education group sessions for 12 weeks (including random drug testing), plus an AA meeting attended by someone from MADD, and couldn't drink for a year. Part of the conditions of probation before judgment, where if I followed the rules, it wouldn't be on my record (though I think just public record, pretty sure cops could still see it if I got another DUI). I did pay a substantial fine as well. If I had broken the conditions, could have gone to jail. This was more than 15 years ago.

Wasn't put into rehab though.

I sent an email to the md through their insane system. I doubt it will even get to her. I don't know if it will seem an odd missive or if it is usual for people to write to lay out their ambivalence beforehand

We got a dusting of snow here last night, it looked pretty on the rock hill in my backyard. It's almost all melted away now. Snow doesn't stay around long down where I live, but the mountains look pretty this morning.

I wasn't able to give platelets this weekend because my iron was too low. I did get a free t-shirt. I am still proud of me for trying.
