Somebody complained on a different thread that our screen door was always flappin open. I never see it so it would probably annoy me too.

Incidentally, I got a tetanus booster (Dtap or tdap or whatever) maybe 12 years ago in the morning before a probationary period at a new job. I sat at work shivering with chills for much of the day because I wasn't eligible for sick leave yet and may not have even been eligible for leave without pay. Not that copy editing is particularly taxing work... Are you scheduled for the next shot? If so, I'd hope they'd keep it aside for you? I'm not sure how they're doing that. And nice that your class is being livestreamed, but more notice would have been nice! |

Congrats to H! Hopefully he will keep the job this time and they can accommodate his needs. I'm not sure it seems fair to make your seeing L twice a week contingent on your stopping smoking, though. Because stopping smoking takes away a coping mechanism, while you'd also only be seeing L once a week. Is he OK with you using some sort of nicotine replacement or medication to get through it? And how long would you need to stop before you could see her more often? |

Ah, I wasn't thinking about the financial aspect of smoking. Good luck with doing so! I know you've said you've done it before, so I think you can do it again, even if it will be difficult. |

I have found the best dentist. I got a free check and a written estimate and they are good with arranging things with your budget they super nice and i didnt feel rushed and ignored. And they have Netflix to distract you and they will give sedation for anxiety and the have a thing that replaces needles for anaesthetic. I think i will stay with these guys. Also the waiting room is so unlike a dentists waiting room there was no fishtank or that funky smell.

New job is going well. One of the ladies at the new place said I won the lottery getting a job at this office (I work security - and this place seems totally chill and safe)

Ugh, I’ve been reacting really poorly to my last bout of night shifts. I was only getting about 4 hours of sleep during the day for about a week and none at night; now I feel super jet lagged and headachey and nauseous and just gross. (I don’t think I’m actually ill with anything because I don’t have a fever or a cough or whatnot, and I’ve felt like this before when I’ve been super exhausted.)
The weird part is that I’m weirdly afraid of how the BF will react to this. I don’t want to do that thing where I inhabit the sick role for attention... but I legitimately feel awful. I feel like I’m disappointing him bc he wants to do stuff (well, as much stuff as one can do during a pandemic) and have fun and all I’m capable of is lying around and taking Tylenol and feeling gross. He’s being super nice about it but I still feel bad. What’s up with that? |

In my humble opinion @chihirochild, sometimes you just gotta take care of yourself. And not getting enough sleep (and 4 hours of sleep a day is not enough sleep) can really wreak havoc on a person. I know you don't want to let BF down, but I don't want you letting YOU down. Your body needs rest. Even if you can't sleep. Those night shifts must be really awful. HUGS if wanted, Kit
