I feel that seeking therapy is a form of self care and the first step to not hating yourself. Whatever type of therapy is chosen, the healing will come from the relationship you form with a therapist.
My therapist accepts every part of me, including all the awful things I have done. This lets me accept and love myself too. |

I agree with the individual that replied before me. Seeking therapy or any treatment to improve your mental health, is a form of self-care. My sponsor always told me that if you want to improve/raise your self-esteem, you have to do esteemable acts. She always taught me to be good to others and be good to myself. Taking care of yourself mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually is the magic formula to loving yourself and becoming the best version of you. Good luck to you.
