The LTACH my husband is in as he is recovering from COVID happens to be in the same hospital where over a decade ago, I would go inpatient for mental health issues (rather frequently).
I was down in the cafeteria a few minutes ago, and in walks the surgical nurse who worked with my pdoc to do my ECT treatments back then. She and I caught each other’s eye and immediately recognized each other. I had to remind her of my name, but it all clicked for her right away. We had a nice talk and she’s going to pass on my hello to my old pdoc. I’m amazed that after almost a decade, she is still here, still working with my old pdoc, and she actually remembered me. I knew I was fortunate to have had access to this particular hospital at the time, but while I probably wouldn’t have been surprised if my doctor remembered me, I am quite surprised that this particular nurse remembers me so well. In the elevators of the hospital are some pictures of the staff in the mental health unit. Still several of the same nurses that were here a decade ago. Speaks to quality and commitment. |

WOW! That's one of those "magic moments" in life. Very cool, and no mistake, I'm sure.
