I'm seeing my therapist in person tomorrow for the first time in 14 months. I think it will be weird.

I hope your daughter's OK--sounds scary! Has she ever had anything like that happen before? When I read your first post about it, I thought maybe she was dehydrated or wasn't used to standing for such a long stretch of time, but I guess not. |

Morning couchies. Hugs to all who want. It's day 3 of my Specialty training at work, yesterday went by really fast. We are learning a ton of stuff, I'm taking lots of notes, and for this particular job function, we are being given some very helpful tools so I am glad about that! 10 more minutes to wake up all the way before I have to log into work.

I am trying macadamia nut milk in coffee today - it is not bad. Better than soy, almond, or oat milk in coffee I think. I bought some so now I will try making my own like I do with the others. When I make almond milk I usually add a date or two. I don't know if that would help or hurt the macadamia stuff. I don't mind the others in other uses, but coffee is tricky I think.

I find almond milk to be dreadful in coffee. I like soy milk, though lately I've been getting the Silk soy coffee creamers. Have you tried cashew milk in coffee? I liked that better than almond (creamier), but don't want to have it in the house because my daughter's allergic to cashews. I've heard coconut milk (the kind in a carton, not a can) can work well with coffee, too, but I don't like the taste of coconut. |

Yes - I have made cashew milk - I did not like it in coffee. The texture was good but I did not like the taste with coffee

Anybody try shampoo bars? My hair is so thin and fine. I'm hoping that this will be the solution! Viori has over 11k comments on fb, and it looks to be promising.

Session with Dr. K went okay yesterday. Thanks for pocket riding with me Artie! It is weird doing telehealth with him sort of because I have never seen him in person. Whereas with Pdoc I've seen him in person and regular T does phone calls only or in person.
He kept reminding me that I have a thought disorder (schizoaffective disorder depressed type) and that some of my thoughts may not be real. This totally confounds me. I mean I *have* them so how can they not be real? I mean, they certainly exist. I'll give an example. Sometimes there is a demon in my head and he tells me things mostly things like to hurt myself. But he isn't always there. And his voice is inside not outside which is how I know he is in my head. I have voices that are outside of my head and they are not in my head but I hear them. But he is in my head because the voice is inside of my head. He said lets just suppose this isn't real. He said some people think they can communicate with aliens or that the CIA is after them (who knows, maybe they are!) and how that isn't real. Now I don't know if aliens exist but if people think they can talk to them, maybe they can. And the CIA well who knows what they are up to. I generally think my life is far too boring for the CIA to be after me personally. Like I think they have other suspects that have much more interesting lives. But who knows, since I was hospitalized IP maybe they do have me on some sort of watch list and monitor my movements. If so they have a very boring job because I go to work, Target, home, Del Taco, and Church. Pretty boring. Back to the demon thing. Most of ya'll know that I am very religious. I believe in Angels and so I believe in their counterpart, Demons. To say they aren't real goes against some pretty ingrained religious beliefs that I have, which are not likely to change. Actually he didn't say they didn't exist. He said the opposite of good is not evil, it's the absence of good. But I don't know that I believe that either. Too much fire and brimstone in my religious background. So he said when I have a demon in my head then I am supposed to think good thought and if I can't think good thoughts I am supposed to read good thoughts. Like affirmations or a religious text. Ha. I should read Ezekiel or Revelations. That's a religious text but one that scares the bejeebies out of me. He said if I was Catholic I could have an exorcism. I told him I'm not Catholic and that my denomination doesn't do exorcisms. But doesn't that mean that they are real if you have to do something to get rid of them? See the whole thing was rather confusing. I do like that we did at least talk about it in some detail. Regular T just skips over stuff like this and I am left feeling like I don't know what to do with it. I'm just not sure what he is trying to tell me. The whole thing was rather confusing. Anyway I see him in two weeks. This time at 4 PM so I won't have to miss any work. I'm happy about that. Comments are okay. I am rather confused on how the whole thing went anyhow. I don't think I could be more confused than I am now. HUGS to anyone who wants them!

I've kept my appointment with R tomorrow, even though it's my birthday. Now I'm second guessing myself.
Possible trigger:
If you've kept a therapy appointment on your birthday, did you keep it light, or did you have a 'normal' session?

Dr. T just used the term "refractory period" to refer to the time it could take me to go from the mindset of a therapy session back to the real world. Isn't that word generally used to refer to...um...the time to recover from something else? Like for males?

Hugs, Lost. Well, this year I ended up with an extra session that I requested on my birthday because I was really struggling with some things. So that definitely wasn't light. I've had regularly scheduled ones on my birthday before and just treated it like a normal session. But it's up to you really. Is there an option to reschedule, if you'd rather not have it on that day? |

Kit, is this something that you could possibly consult with Pastor T on? I'm certainly not an expert on Christianity, but I agree it seems contradictory if he's saying that both they aren't real and that maybe you could have an exorcism.
