II found out two weeks ago that my therapist is leaving at the end of July. I am heartbroken. We really clicked.. I have3 more sessions before she leaves. I will start seeing her colleague in August. She said she thinks will be a good match. I asked my current therapist if I could have the new one sit in for like 5 min of one of her sessions. I just emailed Friday evening so haven't heard back yet. IDK if that is even a possibility but I figured can't hurt to ask. I need to go over my ground rules which are 1 please don't minimize me just bc I seem high functioning 2 don't criticize my wife or sew seeds of discontent between us. 3 don't try to hospitalize me just for psychosis unless I am truly threatening myself or others and 4 don't be afraid to laugh. Do those seem reasonable?

I am sorry your T is leaving. It sucks especially since you worked well together.

Your requests seem reasonable. But then I am of the mind that clients ought to be able to make any request they wish... though these may not necessarily be 'satisfied'. But a T willing to discuss these shows the calibre of a good T.

To me your requests seem reasonable. But I am not a T so I don't know what they think. There's nothing wrong with bringing them up and having a discussion about them. HUGS. Kit

I met with both my old and new therapist today. I am pleased as punch my new therapist seemed fun, responsive and helpful. We went over my 4 "ground rules" and what I would like help with. My current therapist said I was a true gift and a joy to work with. She almost had me in tears! Anyway thank you all for your responses and support.
