Early on that's probably a good thing to do, Julieanne sounds like she's doing a good job there.

I used to always feel more comfortable about it around people after them having seen it once, I can understand how that can help as well. Hope you're able to relax a bit today, SlumberKitty!
Years ago, I showed ex-T (in person) the first time I'd SHed in years. And she looked upset. It was difficult for me to deal with. Then I felt like I couldn't talk to her about it.

I feel like SH is a really delicate topic though. Because I've also been bothered when my current T seemed to underreact to thoughts of doing it or, a couple years ago, my saying I'd engaged in it. It's like I want them to react with some sort of concern but not seem upset.

So Kit, as you haven't been seeing this T very long, maybe she wasn't sure how to respond? I do agree it was brave that you showed her.

Also, I agree that going to therapy more often could be helpful for you, such as weekly. Even if you just went weekly for, say, a month or so, and then saw if it was helpful.

I believe often the 80 yr old people are the ones making mochi. I had a lot of it in Japan - it is chewy and sort of gummy.

Dammit, SD, now ex-hankster is wise to how I was planning to bump her off with mochi once we were married and she made me the heir to her millions.

As someone with a phobia of choking, I'm certainly avoiding mochi now (never tried it and doesn't sound like something I'd necessarily like).

Don't use food - you will have to hear all about her digestive system woes until she is done in. Plus, it seems exhankster enjoys talking about digestive systems in general - you would be in for a long set of disgusting chats until she succumbed. Freudians.

The mochi I ate last night did not appear to be a choking hazard of any sort, unless one is the type to stuff a half-dollar size piece in one's mouth all at once.

Me, I'm a nibbly-eating type anyway.

I remember my sibling's spouse (someone I do not like) peeled her kids' hotdogs and grapes until they were in high school.

How would one peel a hotdog?

We cut up hot dogs and grapes until D was maybe 7. Never peeled either of them though!

We cut hotdogs lengthwise for ToddlerManatee on the rare occasions we have them. And then she usually doesn't eat them anyway. I think the recommendation is to cut grapes in half (also lengthwise) until like age four. I've never peeled them, though.

This reminds me of a video I watched a few days ago about this man who wanted to cleanse his colon so he drank like 2 liters of that fiber you mix with water. It was so thick he was having to eat it. The problem is that it absorbs a lot of water, but won't break back down as you add further water and it forms like a putty. Dude had some clogged intestines and had to have surgery to break it up.

From what I remember - you take the skin off and just have the ground up inside meat.

I think it is all fairly ridiculous, but I was raised by people who thought if you were idiotic enough not to chew, then natural selection has a place.

When we saw my grandmother, she insisted we chew each bit of solid food 40 times.

This training means I’ve never choked on anything in my life. I am also now a notoriously slow eater.

Peeling grapes reminds me of my cousin's grandma's parrot, Poncho. We used to bird-sit him sometimes when I was a kid and he liked green grapes, he would take a grape from you and proceed to hold it in one claw, and peel it with his beak. He was a cool dude, Poncho. He also sang "Joshua fought the battle of Jericho".

So I was assisting the developers by testing live chat today, because they just made some changes, and a real member somehow sneaked through and I got her, so I had to handle it while they were all "watching" cuz my screen was shared in the Teams meeting. No pressure there at all! I was supposed to get my lead who was logged into a test account, but I guess she got bumped by the real one haha. Ah well, I dealt with it, and all was well! Got off work 15 minutes ago and I am tired and think I shall go to bed early again. One more 10 hour day then I get a day off. H is out on a job still, he'll be home in around 45 minutes unless they give him another one. I will probably be asleep before he gets home. Night, couchies.

Why would anyone do this unless it’s medically supervised or medically prescribed for colonoscopy prep. Ugh...

I have loved Mayhem for years. He’s the reason I have homeowners’ insurance through Allstate.

Which puts the question in my head: if your therapist were a commercial, what commercial would they be?

Visa. It’s everywhere you want to be.

You probably would have appreciated the time my ex drank an entire bottle of prune juice. It may have been two bottles. Whatever the normal size you get at the grocery store is, so like 64 oz each. Not sure what his motivation was other than just to see what happened. A LOT of gurgling noises that one could hear from across the room is what happened. I laughed heartily at the gurgling that day. I don't think he enjoyed what came next though.
