And would she even care or do anything? At our last session she asked me the name of this site and I said "um, I'm not going to tell you that." And she backed off right away and didn't pry anymore. Now I'm wondering if she is going to find me on here. I have said some not very flattering things about her and I've just in general said some things she doesn't know or need to know about. I have no idea how easy it is to find someone on a public forum but if she were to find this forum she'd spot me instantly.
Can I get in trouble for the things I've said on here or can I like back door her or whatever the term is and ask why was she trying to find me in the first place?

You shouldn't get in trouble with her for it. I've shared with my T that I'm on here and even mentioned my username once--I slipped up when sharing something someone had said and included "LT", then said something about my username, and he said he'd never go on here, so I just shared it.
I doubt she'd look for you here, and you might not be as obvious as you think? Yes, if she wandered onto the Couch, Dear T, or In Session Today, but that also takes a fair amount of effort to find. Maybe ask her if she could just leave this as a private place for you, an outlet of sorts? |

I also don't think you'd be in trouble in any sort of way. I don't think this forum in general is a hot bed of T's. lol. Even if she were here, unless she is a terrible T, she would most likely would never even bring it up. It isn't up to her to divulge information about you. That is your choice.

If you didn't tell her the name of the site I doubt you'd have anything to worry about. There are other forums similar to this one. Plus I don't think therapists track down their clients outside of sessions all too often.

It’s against the code of ethics to look clients up on any type of social media. I have had to block clients for my own privacy on social media shed literally have to make an account here. I doubt she has time or interest to look you up. She probably was just curious what the forum
Was called to write as a support strength in your tx plan. Idk maybe.

Maybe. If she is bored out of her mind and has nothing better to do than trawl through hundreds of posts to 'discover' who you are. I think the probability of this happening is rather low... but yeah, I guess it might happen.
You are still allowed to say whatever you want about her. Also, she is not ethically 'allowed' to google clients - unless you and her agree that she can read your posts. So, she would be the one in the 'wrong' if she were to look you up. |

I'd be hurt about the Facebook thing, too.
I'm thinking that your T was just curious about a forum that provides the kind of support this forum provides. I commend you for declining to tell her the name of your safe place.
