When I clerked for a federal judge for a couple of years post law school I used to do my first drafts in the style of various authors just to have fun. They would get fixed for the final -but getting a good Faulkner parody or Raymond Chandler was a way that me and my fellow clerks amused ourselves for the first draft.

I feel depressed and angry today. I want to yell at somebody. I feel like giving up.
We're supposedly doing a phone session tomorrow during his 6 hour drive to his clinical site. We've talked a few times while he was driving before, but I feel like I need some undivided attention right now. I also tend to not feel like talking when I'm feeling angry which is something I would probably be willing to deal with in person but sounds like torture on the phone. |

Hugs, NP. It's good he's still trying to give you a session, but I get what you mean about wanting undivided attention. I guess there's no chance he could have a (virtual, obviously) session with you once he gets to his destination? Or do at least part of the call from, say, a parking lot or rest stop? |

ATAT, those old medicine bottles... even the empty ones... could be donated to a museuem of science or sold to a collector. Very interesting! I'm sorry it's taking so long to go through the whole house. You have my support and can always message me although I'm not always sure what to say.

i'm starting to seriously reconsider my decision to go visit my friends in oregon in early july. i think it may have been a bad decision. I do not want to end up with covid... we're both vaxxed/boosted but my cousin is too, and she recently flew to the east coast with her adult kids and they all got covid on the plane, she's super sick right now the others are not as bad. she's not hospitalized, but she's really sick.

Hugs, Artie. Could you get an N95 mask (the highest level) to wear on the plane maybe? It just sounded like such a nice trip.... I get it though--my father-in-law and step-mother-in-law just got Covid on a Mediterranean cruise (got it on the cruise itself, or maybe at one of the ports, not the flight, as they tested positive near the end and had to stay on the ship an extra week!) Have you gotten the second booster? I think you and H are eligible based on age (I'm 5 years too young). If not, maybe consider that? I've seen recommendations to get that shortly (like within a month) before travel to increase protection. |

Thanks LT. I did pick up a couple of N95 masks for us, and we both got our 2nd boosters not long ago. So hopefully we'll be okay. You know me, I'm constantly second, third and fourth-guessing my decisions. I do not know how for the life of me to just make a damn decision and STICK to it without all the self-doubting... |

Oh, I'm right there with you on the indecisiveness! And stuff with Covid seems higher-stakes, too. I mean, I question much lower-stakes stuff, like, "Did I make the right choice from the carryout menu?" And I'm sure I drive Dr. T nuts with scheduling because sometimes he'll offer me two time options for a session, and I'll be like, "let's go with 1 p.m.--wait, no, 12." |

If it's any help, Art, in case you do decide to go...We just flew to NYC and back, spent time doing touristy things, and my son who didn't get covid with the rest of us in May still didn't get it. He masked with a KN95 in crowded indoor spots and on the plane rides there. Lots of people were masked on the planes and in the airports. (And lots not.) I know that's just one story of NOT getting it, but it might help knowing it's not inevitable. I hope you're kind to yourself about the second-guessing bit too. I think it's perfectly reasonable in this circumstance when things are changing so rapidly. If you decide to go I hope you're able to find some peace and enjoy the trip. __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. I'm about to make shortcakes for strawberry shortcake. It's that time of year! I made strawberry jam yesterday and the whole house smelled divine.
Also, while waiting for the jam to cool, I tried the duotrigordle. So much fun. __________________ Since you cannot do good to all, you are to pay special attention to those who, by accidents of time, or place, or circumstance, are brought into closer connection with you. (St. Augustine) |

Yep, he is. We asked the dr about it when we were there for the procedure, cuz I was concerned about him just flying even if there wasn't a pandemic afoot, and they said it was fine and recommended that he wear one of the N95 masks. I have one for each of us. He is not worried about it at all. |

Thanks WFS. we'll be wearing the N95 masks on the planes anyway, I probably will in the airports too, but h is not as concerned about it as I am so I doubt he'll wear one outside of the planes (we have a layover in denver). I really want to go, and we probably will, I'll just be as careful as I can by masking and using hand sanitizer and stuff. My son recently flew up there for his job interview, he masked on the planes, and he didn't get sick either. Of course he's had covid twice already plus is vaccinated so he may have better immunity than me as I've never had it. just gotten the vaxxes & boosters. |
