Is it my learning disabilities or was he talking complete nonsense?

For example, his thing of "women are jealous of their dads and try and get a penis by marrying a man" (yes as far as I can remember, that is literally something he said)

And something like "men feel sorry for the women for not having a penis and marry the woman so she gets one" (or whatever)

I'm not sure what it means though that I want nothing to do with men if I can avoid any more relationships with men cause i know that men cannot be trusted not to hurt me, idk if this makes me a freak of nature by freud's opinion? idk

or was freud talking out of his arse with all of what he decided when he was alive?

There's a reason why psychological theory is so often discussed. The use of the word theory indicates that it is yet to be proven true or otherwise.

A lot of his theories seem to be more fantastical than practical.

I would also add that therapy and psychology have come a long way since Freud. And there are lots of theories now that therapists and the like work from. He was kind of a starting place, a jumping off place, but we as humanity know more about how the mind and emotions work then he did then. But yes, I agree with Lost. It's a theory.

It's not you. He was a misogynist - he was male, so females were 'lesser than' according to his highness.

These are just theories and many are outdated. I’d not live my life by these ideas.

Some men cannot be trusted same as some women, and then some can. So I’d not generalize. You are limiting yourself by stereotyping all men as not trustworthy

I'd definitely run for the hills if somebody in current times told me he's practicing after Freud. It used to be a progressive way of thinking, but nowadays we know better. Not everything he said was plain wrong of course, I mean more as an overall guideline. People with bad experiences with one gender might not trust that gender anymore, that doesn't make them weird or whatever Freud would say. It's pretty understandable to avoid people that you feel might hurt you.
